The GPU Shortage is OVER - All Hail Return of The 1050ti
Nvidia is bringing back the 1050ti to stamp the ongoing GPU shortage. A kind gesture in principle, but give me a freaking 3060 or 3060 ti for crying out loud. I mean the 1050ti is a reasonable 1080p card but growing accustomed to high framerates has spoiled me. Not to mention I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on those 2nd gen tensor cores for some AI magic.
Having built more computers than I can remember I've come to understand some not so intuitive things about building gaming PCs. It's quite easy to think the first step is get the fastest GPU out there and the best gaming PC will magically bring it's self together. Well in todays video I let you in on my PC building secrets. At the end of the video you'll have a good understanding of the basic criteria you should be thinking about when building a PC exclusively for gaming.

I show you how to use my AI powered thumbnail tool to make better thumbnails and get higher click through rates. The current iteration of the model is calibrated for CTR of 10% or greater. As with all things, CTR is heavily dependent upon audience, traffic source, title and thumbnail. As such this tool simply tells you if it thinks your thumbnail is likely to get 10% or greater CTR. The idea I had was to create a tool that increase click through rate YouTube. So think of it as YouTube thumbnail tips on demand. There is a product roadmap up on the sight but it is likely to change as when I'm developing and playing with the data I'm finding new and better ways to help you improve your content with SCIENCE! The app is in beta right now so it's currently free to use, so keep an eye on it, submit some feedback and let me know what you think.

This one is just a cool video about building custom water cooled computers. I have built and rebuilt this machine more times than I can remember and it keeps getting better with every iteration. In this one I upgraded from an XSPC X4 Photon pump res combo to an EK-D5 with the acetyl EK-XTOP, and from the i7-6700k to a r7-1700 and from the ASRock Z-170 Gaming K6 to the ASRock x370 Gaming K4 motherboard. Other than that stuff everything else was reused from the previous build. It is amazing what you can do with watercooling in the Corsair 400c. I'm definitely liking dual rads in this case.

Today I decided that playing PUBG on one monitor just wasn't enough. So I hooked up all my monitors turned on display spanning and gave the game a shot in true "ULTRA WIDE". Now this is way more pixies being rendered than most because I'm on 3 monitors so this blows past any single display wide monitor resolution. When I was rocking 3x1080 monitors I loved playing ultra wide but when I switched to high 144hz 1440p monitors I didn't ever flip to ultra wide because I became obsessed with high frame rates. Spoiler alert! PUBG, for all the performance gains they've realized with updates, is not at all optimized for ultra wide game play. Most of the issue was with the aspect ratio and the way it scales. The width was handled just fine but the height was not. There were two main issues I found which are largely the same (related to the height scale) 1)I couldn't see my characters legs while moving and 2) when dropping in I couldn't even see my character which made it almost impossible to land where I wanted to. All in all it was an interesting experiment, but, at least for this title, I'll be sticking to a single 1440p monitor because playing PUBG at 7680x1440 ultrawide is just not a thing. Yet!.

It is often the case that the drive you have is too small to mount in the bay you have available. This is even more true if the case your build is sporting was released more than 2 years ago. While it can seem like a big hassle, the brackets that enable you to adapt small drives to large bay are not very expensive and come in many forms. Some allow you to mount 2 ssd's in one slot, others provide a solid mounting surface. One thing to keep in mind is that you are not limited to mounting in a 3.5" bay, there are also adapters available that allow you to mount a 3.5" HDD in a 5 1/4 bay. This means through some clever case rigging, you can mount a 2.5 SSD / HDD in a 5 1/4" bay.

This is a quicky. As I was catching up on some rendering I wondered if it was possible to upload more than one video at a time to youtube. While simultaneous uploads don't seem to be possible you can que them in a line. The progress bar at the top of the screen will account for all videos in que as far as completion is concerned bu tit seems that only one video will be uploaded at a time. They can however process and upload at the same time. But doing it this way means you can get your description and tags out of the way. :)

Is a USB mixer different than an audio interface? Then answer is somewhere in the middle. A USB mixer can fulfil the primary function of an audio interface by converting XLR to USB, but typically offers more features like basic EQ and the ability to combine disparate audio sources into one, as well as routing the output to more than one destination. Regardless, getting good audio is very important for your stream. Today we will review various methods for getting an XLR mic to interface with your computer and how to split your mic for streaming. In addition to differentiating between an audio interface and a usb mixer, I will compare the quality of different connections for my XLR microphone to my PC.

The question was "I have been searching endlessly for help regarding this dual pc setup question, please help! No seriously. Nobody on any forum I've been on seems to know anything about dual pc streaming setups. My question is pretty simple, My main gaming computer monitor is 240hz refresh rate 1080p, My stream pc (pcpartpicker) will use an 1080p monitor 60hz. Would this work? I will be using the 4k60 Pro. Do both the streaming monitor and gaming monitor need to be the same refresh rate?"
My answer is yes you can do that no problems but you may have trouble reaching the upper limit FPS with a clear picture on the capture device. I game at 1440p and on most titles I am not able to go above 120fps without image corruption on the capture side. When I dial it back to 120fps everything is fine. Again it doesn't occur in all titles only in some and I haven't tested with any other cable than the one that comes with the 4k60 pro. Basically it doesn't really matter what the streaming PC displays it really only matters what happens in the capture device. I stream all the time and the only issue I really have is with frame rate but what is seen on the stream-monitor wont affect the real FPS. Once you get the basics down you'll be able to get your capture card setup and you'll be past the how to stream question in no time.

Running the GTX 1080's with 2 sli-bridges playing Gears of War 4. Although the frame rate "range" appears to be roughly equal to that of the single bridge, it appears that the average frame rate was higher. Now I wasn't logging the frame rate to a csv file to calculate meaningful averages, but the game felt smoother and there appeared to be less dipps to lower frame rates. In the next video I'll have the HB bride installed and we'll go through the tests again and see what happens.
Thanks for watching, YouTube peeps are the best! :)
