After defeating Automaton Domineus in Eteene Palace, he went down to the Tokimi Temple and defeated King Domineus himself. However, another villain has emerged, and some not nice things have started happening. Version 4.0 concluded when Davilas reported to Sage Rushenda in True Gran Zedoura Castle. Now, he will visit her again and start the Version 4.1 storyline. Davilas resumes in his house in the Azlan housing area. Outside, he checks his mail and receives gold for an item that sold on the bazaar. Many thanks to the buyer! Davilas also receives a book that teaches the Metal Slime disguise gesture. He uses the book and shows off the gesture. At the bank, Davilas deposits his gold. Afterwards, he Zooms to Gran Zedoura Castle with Anlucia's Zoom Stone. True Gran Zedoura Castle (time 2:59): Davilas arrives at Princess Anlucia's balcony on the third floor of the west tower. He uses the teleportal at F-1 and chooses the bottom option to go to Sage Rushenda's office on floor 2F. Davilas goes through the door at D-7 on 2F to enter Rushenda's office. Inside, he talks to Sage Rushenda at E-6. This triggers some dialogue. She wants Davilas to get Sage Eidos to come to True Gran Zedoura Castle. Eidos is at home in the Wise Man's Hideout in the Poupora Region in Pukland. Davilas leaves Rushenda's office. He uses the teleportal at D-7 to head to the entrance of the city. True Gran Zedoura Castle Town (time 5:17): Davilas Zooms to the Pyipi Camp in the East Orufea Region. East Orufea Region (time 5:37): Davilas arrives at the Pyipi Camp at H-5. He exits east at H-5 to the Poupora Region. Poupora Region (time 6:08): Davilas starts at A-3 in the northwest. He follows the road southeast. Outside the door to the Wise Man's Hideout (賢者の隠れ家), Davilas sets a Zoom Stone to the crystal at H-6. Then, he enters the hideout at H-6. Wise Man's Hideout (time 8:25): Just inside, Davilas talks to Sage Eidos at C-6 for some dialogue. Davilas will have to carry out an errand before Eidos will go to Gran Zedoura. He carried out Quest 707: "Promised Homecoming" and brought his brother, Talint, home to New Eteene Village from the Demon World. It would be nice if Talint would join him on his future adventures, though. Davilas also carried out Quest 452: "A Big Smiley Adventure" and took Talint's smiley flower, Niko-chan, on a little tour of Nadragand. Afterwards, he returned to Talint for a little scene. Now, Davilas will begin the Version 6.3 storyline, "The Tale of the Rise of the Moon with the Evil Eye". The following prerequisites must be met: * Quest 017: "To Buy a Stuffed Animal" in Gartland * The Gartland substory quest line "The Fang of Gazbaran" (Quests 211-215) * Quest 684: "Memory of Light" in Finetka * Quest 685: "Radiant Garden" in the Demon King's Castle and Jadin Garden * Quest 707: "Promised Homecoming" in Jadin Garden and New Eteene Village Davilas resumes in his house in the Azlan Housing Area on Eltona, the Elf continent. Davilas uses the Soul Candlestick to Zoom to the Heavenly Shrine in the Folion Heavenly Temple, Divine Capital Folion. Folion Heavenly Temple (time 2:06): Davilas arrives on floor 1F of the Heavenly Shrine. At E-5, Shutron has story info. On floor 2F, Davilas takes the door at D-3/E-3 to the Celestrian Chief's Room. Within, he talks to Kantis at D-2/E-2 for a scene that starts the Version 6.3 story. Fedira, Crutos, and Yuraiza arrive for a meeting. Davilas agrees to lend his power to help with the latest crisis. In the wake of the battle with Jia Lumina, Archangel Mitlar was wounded and fell. Reportedly, she washed up at the Choppi Wilderness on Pukland. Davilas and Yuraiza must go search for her in that area. Davilas uses the Soul Candlestick to return to Astoltia. New Eteene Village (time 9:57): Davilas Zooms to the Wilderness Resting Place destination in the Choppi Wilderness. Choppi Wilderness (time 10:21): Davilas arrives at the Wilderness Resting Place. In review, I notice that Porpupo in the camp has story info, but I did not talk to that individual. North of the camp, a black chest at D-5 contains 3 clumps of Glimmergrass (かがやきそう). Atop the wall on the east side of the Wildrness Resting Place, a path leads north and into a cave. Within, there is a gate at D-4, but the bouncer nearby will not let Davilas go through. At D-4, Davilas talks to Puyang, the bouncer. After Davilas responds "Yes", he will eventually receive a list of four responses. He must select the option "Glare" (にらみつける) to proceed. Eventually, Puyang lets Davilas and Yuraiza enter the Magic Cave Alamand (魔窟アラモンド). Magic Cave Alamand (time 13:37): Davilas declines the option to reset his spawn point to Alamand from Finetka. A cutscene introduces Magic Cave Alamand. This looks like Pukland's den of scum and villainy. The greeting committee is less polite than usual. Yuraiza takes exception with one individual in particular. Afterwards, she finds something. Davilas obtains the Angel Feather (天使の羽根) key item. Could Mitlar be here? The next objective is to gather information from the residents. Davilas gains control at D-6 on floor 1F of the area. At E-5, Pechapo has story info. The first resident that he must interview is Poponta at E-5 in the central area. The next is Pip at D-4. The third is Petunia at C-6 in the Rogue's Bar in the west. Yuraiza sums things up after Davilas has talked to all three NPCs. The next objective is to go upstairs to floor 2F, where the Emperor's Stronghold is. At E-5, Pechapo has story info. At F-5 in the east, Davilas visits Pippel, the item shop merchant. He stocks up on Treasure Hunt Bells, which mark the locations of treasure chests on the map. At F-4 in the northeast of the main room, a black chest contains a Gold Bar (きんかい). In a passage at C-2, a black chest contains a clump of Twilight Moss (たそがれゴケ). Davilas takes the stairs at C-5 up to floor 2F. In the east, he approaches the drawbridge at F-5 for a cutscene. The nearby thug, Arapukre, will not lower the drawbridge for him and Yuraiza to pass to the Emperor's Stronghold. Davilas must become a VIP first. Hm, Pip on the first floor was talking about VIPs. In this video, he will go to Dangruf Wadi for more grinding as Black Mage. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. In his delivery box, he receives gold for a stack of Fire Crystals that sold at auction. Many thanks to the buyer! Heorot changes his main job to Level 91 Black Mage with White Mage as support job. He puts an item away in his Mog Safe. Afterwards, he heads out to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:26): Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Dangruf Wadi, Gustaberg. Dangruf Wadi (time 2:15): Heorot arrives at K-10. With the Grounds Tome nearby, he signs up for the Page 5 individual training to defeat 4 Witchetty Grubs and 2 Goblin Headsmen per training regime. He can find these enemies fairly easily northeast and west of I-8. The Goblins, of course, are aggressive. The Witchetty Grubs are not, but they do link, so be careful. During the grinding, Heorot reaches Black Mage Level 92. When he has finished, he Warps back to Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 59:15): Heorot trades his Copper A.M.A.N. Voucher to Isakoth at E-11. In Mjoll's Goods, he sells his loot to Olwyn at E-11. Then, Heorot teleports to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:00:49): At the auction house, Heorot puts a stack of Fire Crystals up for sale. Then, Heorot enters the residential area. Mog House (time 1:02:23): Heorot signs off. This is video #102 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy IV for the PC. This is episode 20 of the third playthrough. I am playing on Hard mode. Among other things, they acquired the Dragon gear and the Crystal gear. They have reached the save room on floor B5. Now, they will gather the remaining treasures in the Lunar Subterrane. Lunar Subterrane: The party resumes in the save room on floor B5. They head south and exit to the northeast part of B5. Just to the northeast, they find another sealed weapon. When they examine it, they must fight the Dark Bahamut. The Dark Bahamut leads off with Megaflare, and it can use Megaflare as a counter to summons. So, summons are a bad idea. It counters Black Magic with Flare, which is much more manageable. It can put up Reflect, so it will help Rydia to have Piercing Magic. It can also counter physical attacks, so it is a good idea to put up Blink. At the end of the battle, Rosa reaches Level 67. Rydia reaches Level 67. The party obtains the Ragnarok. Cecil sticks with the Onion Sword. The party returns to the save room, where they rest at the save point. They take the northern teleporter to the western stairway on B5. Downstairs, they take the next teleporter to the western stairway on B6. They take the next teleporter to the southeast of the bottom level of B6. Cecil reaches Level 68. Edge reaches Level 67. On the middle level of B6, the party takes the eastern door to a hallway. In the northwest of the hallway, a chest contains a Minerva Bustier guarded by two Moonmaidens and a Dark Sage. Rosa and Rydia stick with their current equipment. The party takes the northeast stairway down to floor B7. There are three doors along the southern hallway on B7. Behind the middle door, the party finds another sealed weapon. When they examine it, the Plague Horror attacks! It puts Doom on the entire party and tries to speed them on their way to the grave with Haste. Fortunately, it is pretty easy to defeat in this version of the game, especially with good augments. And if Cecil or Kain has an Onion Shield, he is immune to Doom! At the end of the battle, Kain reaches Level 67. The party obtains the Holy Lance. Kain sticks with his Onion Sword. The eastern door leads to a room with two treasure chests. However, as the party steps into the room, the Lunasaur attacks. It likes to use Bad Breath, which sticks a bunch of nasty status ailments on unprotected party members. If Cecil has the Crystal gear, he is protected.
