A massive police operation is underway across New South Wales with officers looking to catch and fine people who are breaking public health orders.
Police have said the time for warnings is over and they will be issuing massive fines of up to $5,000 as part of Operation Stay at Home.
An additional 500 Australian Defence Force personnel will be on the ground assisting police with compliance checks.
Police will be patrolling parks and beaches and there will be 1,400 highway patrol officers patrolling backroads and setting up roadblocks to stop people travelling more than five kilometres from their homes.
