Looking down on Marine One as it comes into the White House
Biden is on his way to New York City so I decide to take a different spin on the departure video today, heading up to the Washington Monument for a birdseye view. Unfortunately, the weather didn't really cooperate.
NOTE: It was cloudy, foggy and raining, all of which made for horrible conditions for filming with things looking out of focus (but really just suffering from dirty windows, clouds and wispy fog). I did my best to enhance it in post-processing, but well...take a look)

I really wanted a calm and peaceful video today. I went to the Zoo, I went down 14th Street, I got a half-smoke at the most famous hot dog place in town. The sky was blue, it was warm--just a great Spring day. But that went crazy when an active shooter call at the Burke School in NW Washington D.C. went out. The White House was secured and reinforcements from multiple agencies and all over the city rushed to the scene. I was there too.

So today I ran down to the National Gallery of Art today as they have reopened their doors to tourists, sort of. I then went over to the White House to try and catch a Marine One landing but I was a bit too late--just saw them leaving. Oh well. We rode around Lafayette Park for a bit just to see what's what.

Today was a bit of a Navy day. Not only did we go on to the US Navy Yards and check out the US Navy Museum, but we also saw Marine One come in to pick up POTUS for a trip to Kentucky to survey the tornado damage. And in keeping with the historical aspects, we also go out to a river in the middle of Maryland where a sunken U.S. warship was recently rediscovered.
