I finally decided to do something about the flickering LED lights in my shop. They were causing me all kinds of headaches when shooting video, limiting my frame rates and editing options, so I picked up some new flicker-free high-CRI shop lights from Waveform Lighting. They're not cheap, but are they worth the money I paid for them?

Many of you have been asking, so this week I'm going to show how to program the TI LaunchPad microcontroller used in the Electronic Leadscrew. We'll start with a fresh install of Windows, install the TI Code Composer Studio (CCS) IDE, download the source code from GitHub and program the controller.

Today we're going to take a closer look at how I'm calculating the different thread and feed (virtual) gear ratios for the electronic leadscrew.
This was the most-discussed topic in the comments of the last video, so we're going to talk about it.

Today we're making a set of copper soft jaws for the 6-1/2" Wilton
Tradesman bench vise. This is something I've always wanted to attempt,
but never had a good excuse. I found a nice C110 copper drop on eBay and
today we're going to give it a shot.

Today I'm finishing the install of the quill DRO on my PM935-TV milling machine. This adds a fourth axis to the 3-axis DRO already on the mill, and we'll set it up so the quill and knee DRO scale readings as summed together. This should allow us to move the knee and the quill at the same time and still retain our Z position.

Today we're making a new control panel for the Electronic Leadscrew using a silkscreened PC Board. And we're trying out the 3D PC board design workflow in Fusion 360 to do it. This allows us to create a custom board outline with cutouts to precisely fit our 3D model and easily visualize the board before ordering.

Today we're machining the parts for the ATC spindle mount for my Grizzly G0704 CNC mill. The parts are really a little big to mill on the Grizzly itself, but we'll do it anyway. With careful setup and measurement, it'll probably be fine.

Today, we finish up the G0704 mill spindle lock. We have the parts CNC milled out of aluminum and the top hats removed, so now we just need to pocket, drill, tap and slit the clamps. To align the clamps in the mill vise, we'll make some 3D-printed alignment jigs.
