My copy of the Zzap! 64 2020 album dropped through the door this morning so I had a peruse when I got home from work and noticed Frantic Freddie 2 for the C64 exists!
Frantic Freddie is the most frustrating game EVER! It's fun, don't get me wrong, but it's hellishly frustrating. Here I present a comparison of the original and the newer sequel. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG2DFR-8dXg
Half rant, half cheer vlog. I managed to fix the lighting by covering the window with some black-screen cloth.

Watching the challenge video I saw the name and thought, "Oh no."
Then I saw the game and instantly recognised Zuma!
This is the original that spawned all similar clones, of which Zuma was one.
My best stream score was 113,850 which puts me in second place at time of uploading. One of the few puzzle arcade games I actually enjoy!
In my latest update I show smoother movement at junctions, including some moves that would have been almost impossible in the past, and some aesthetic improvements.
The text is now mixed case. In the Commodore 64 character set this removes the heart character I use for lives, so I've shadowed the built in character set and replaced one of the other characters with the heart, This also means the code is now ready to accept a full replacement character set.
Some other minor tweaks show a full bonus and Level 1 on the first intro screen.

Tested on the following emulators: Vice 64 (x64sc) on Linux, Vice and Frodo64 on Android. Also works fine on a real C64 using SD2IEC.

After the first commute period I didn't have enough footage to make publishing worthwhile. After the second I have too much! It just fit in with the tune I use. Least eventful shifts seem to be early mornings and late nights; I got a lot of arseholy activity when commuting about 20.00. Anyway, enjoy this monster!

This is my stream of Sunset Riders by Konami (1991) for the Mamemeister High Score Kerfuffle. My stream high score was 61,630 and given my work schedule over the next week this will likely by my final submission.
In this stream I played Jackal (Japanese version) by Konami from 1986. I wasn't looking forward to this game, it was the one game on the spinning wheel of selection that I didn't want to come up! It's a pretty run of the mill top down shooter which is pretty bland and also frustratingly difficult. I did, however, settle into it after a while and started to enjoy it, but it won't be a game I'll be returning to any time soon. So much out there that's more fun to play!
I did also play the World version and as a request (anything but Jackal) I played Lady Bug. All on the MiSTer FPGA platform.
The Japanese version wasn't supported on the MiSTer but just changing out 2 ROMs in the MRA file sorted that out. Very simple edit!
Stream high score was 94,700 and that's my final answer Chris... erm Lewis ;)
In this stream I played Gyruss by Konami (1983) for the Mamemeister High Score Kerfuffle Season 12 Part 8, which was one of the games played in Season 8.
This is a great game. Really enjoyable. Score on stream was 143,550 but at the time of upload my highest so far is 180,850. Going to keep plugging at this one because I have a VGA monitor set up in TATE orientation so it's almost like having a dedicated machine available!

Mamemeister High Score Kerfuffle Season 6 - Part 1.
Year: 1980.
Game: Balloon Bomber.
For this one I intended to use the MiSTer. I got a score of 10,500 the night before the stream so had a look on Twin Galaxies. It would have put me in second place! Now I know for a fact there are others in between and they're in this same challenge but I decided to record it via an official method anyway, so downloaded and built WolfMame (which took 2½ hours!) and while I didn't beat that on stream (technical difficulties with audio and OBS losing all audio devices requiring a restart) I did beat it later (11,050). I'll wait until the challenge ends before submitting any score though ;)
This is also my first ever charity stream. I'm a part of the Mental Health May Stream Team organised by the awesome Aravelle ( https://twitch.tv/aravelle ) and raising money for Samaritans. If you want to and can donate please use my donation link :)
