Type in “sudo nautilus” in the terminal to give you root privileges across the board.
You will have to enter your password.
Go to /usr/share/lensfun.
Now, finds the file called “slr-samyang.xml”
Open it up in a text editor (I used Gedit)
Find the word "mount" inside brackets, and add your camera mount to the list:
Nikon F AI
Canon EF
Pentax KAF
Be sure to use the proper tags inside brackets. I can't use brackets inside YouTube's video description box, so I can't give you the exact code to copy and paste.

In this video, I test out the Nikon 14-30mm f/4 zoom lens for suitability as a vlogging lens.
The lens was attached to my Nikon Z6, a full-frame mirrorless camera which excels in low light situations, making the f/4 aperture a non-issue.
IBIS performance seems slightly better than the 24-70mm.
The minimum focus distance is incredible. It can get SO close to things!
AF performance is great.
I think I have a new favourite lens!

After watching some of Adam Savage's "Tested", I have become inspired by Adam's tool organization strategy, and am attempting to adapt it to my art supplies so I can work effectively in my studio without losing or re-buying anything.
It's still a work in progress.

How can you make your photographs more interesting and exciting?
Introduce some diagonal elements!
Horizontal and vertical elements have a stable, restful quality to them, while diagonal elements are loaded with visual potential energy.
Use this simple trick to make your photos burst with excitement!

My hedgie crunches on some freeze dried meal worms.
The little land urchin likes these more than live ones. Weird.

I've been playing around with image stacking lately, combining multiple high ISO images of the same scene into one clean, low-noise image.
Some notes:
The relationship between stacked images and the noise reduction effect seems to be squared, not doublings, so you must combine:
Four images for a one stop ISO improvement, not two.
Eight images for a two stop improvement.
16 images for a three stop improvement.
I've been using Affinity Photo 2 to do my image stacking, but I imagine there are other free and open source programs out there as well.
Happy shooting!

I'm working on a new series of paintings. I'm changing up my process a bit. I used to sketch and trace one or two images at a time, then paint them. This time I tried sketching out and tracing the entire show's worth of images up front, and the plan was to paint everything all at once.

I took over 1200 shots while I was away on vacation!
What am I going to do with them all?
In the past, I've shown instructional videos where I already had an end goal in mind, and the video was mostly me going through the motions.
In this video, I'm figuring out what direction to take the photos while I shoot the video. I really don't know what I'm going to do to the photos just yet.

For the last couple of months, I've been looking at older paintings of mine that hold great personal significance for me, either as stylistic breakthroughs, or pieces that trigger a flood of sentimental memories.
This painting holds great personal significance for me, since it was the very first successful acrylic 'Urban Landscape' I had produced in several years.
