Good evening, I’m still reporting on the Clintons. Why did FBI Director Jim Comey not recommend indictment of Hillary Clinton to the Justice Department? A wild, unconfirmed and probably erroneous scenario is being discussed among angry FBI agents at the headquarters building that makes a lot of sense. Agents are outraged that the once excellent reputation of the FBI now lies in tatters as a result of this administration’s insistence that Hillary Clinton be protected at all costs – and most of the cost is being borne on the back of the FBI’s reputational hide. Agents assert that there was plenty of evidence to support indicting Clinton for several crimes, and if you count all the documents illegally retained, not properly reported and destroyed, we are talking potentially about tens of thousands of felony counts. Imagine how that story would look like on the front page of the morning Washington Post: “Former First Lady Found Guilty on 37,945 Felony Counts.” However President Obama made it clear to Comey that if he proceeded with an indictment, and Clinton lost the election as a result, then he would be held responsible for destroying Clinton’s shot at the presidency. If he failed to get a conviction, he would not only face the wrath of Clinton supporters across the nation, but face charges of tampering with a federal election and probably end up spending the rest of his life in prison. Comey gave in to Obama’s demand, and consequently, a complex plan was devised to protect him from the full wrath of the conservative half of America, which incidentally includes the vast majority of police, fire, EMS, the military, and that includes most FBI personnel as well. Then they had to devise a way to let Hillary escape looming perjury charges. This was achieved at Clinton’s final interview with the FBI on Memorial Day Saturday when no court reporter was present – no recording of any kind was made. Why? Why was a word-for-word transcript of the proceeding NOT made? Because then, it would be nearly impossible to not charge her with perjury. The contradictions in her testimonies before Congress alone are clear-cut perjury. Without a written deposition, perjury is difficult if not impossible to prove. Next up, to get Clinton off from charges of Destruction of Government Documents. She has admitted destroying tens of thousands of them. So, the FBI conjured up what’s known as a “straw man” charge. A straw man charge is when you are charged with something for which conviction is highly unlikely. The intent is to deceive the public that some sort of real investigative process is underway and real charges being considered. Comey reportedly considered recommending indictment on a charge of mishandling classified information, but decided to pass because he felt there was insufficient evidence to prove intent. Prosecutors across the nation rolled their eyes at the weakness of this lame strawman charge – but hey – it’s the best plan he could come up with – and one heck of a lot safer for him than the alternative. But WND found four cases in which the Justice Department did prosecute someone for mishandling classified information without even considering intent. Here’s two of them. One was Bill Clinton’s CIA director, John Deutch. For his convenience, he put classified documents on his personal laptop to work on them at home, but that homework was considered vulnerable to hackers. Yes, the Justice Dept. was set to file criminal charges against the head of the CIA when President Clinton stepped in and preemptively pardoned him. Another case was Clinton’s national security advisor, Sandy Berger, who tried to steal documents out of the National Archives relating to the 9/11 attacks by stuffing them into his pants. Berger was caught, paid a $10,000 fine, and his security clearance was revoked for 3 years. So, Director Comey chose to investigate charging Clinton with smaller violations of laws of lesser importance, rather than charging her with the bigger, more serious laws which she clearly was guilty of – the Destruction of Government Documents rap. As former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy told WND: “Hillary Clinton checked every box required for a felony violation of Section 793(f) of the federal penal code (Title 18): However, she will not be changed. Why? Because, according to McCarthy, Comey chose to consider intent as a necessary attribute of that law too – an intent that Congress never required: “The lack of intent to harm our country is irrelevant, said McCarthy. “People never intend the bad things that happen due to gross negligence.” I’m still reporting from Washington.
