And when they got to the lake they were all over the place, they sure do have a lot of confidence compared to any of my previous flocks over the years. What really surprised me was the duckling born July 8th were playing at the creek with the rest of the ducks during morning rush. Egg recon netted 3 eggs pretty soon there will be no eggs. We had a pretty good rain storm today and I was blown away when the storm really got going and was coming down hard the ducks headed to the lake and started playing in the rain. So I did the one thing that takes my mind off of everything I cleaned the duck pen out so tonight sorting the ducks won’t be a messy event at least. While I was in the pen cleaning the wind seriously picked up and the ducks spent the afternoon in the creek off the lake. I did catch the ducks final rush home and you could tell they had a seriously freaking awesome last day on the lake, they came home so relaxed you could tell the way they took their time coming through the swamp. We lost a lot to predators, I was shocked doing the sort how many breeders were missing and geese won’t know the final count until I do my small cull here of the 30 or 40 birds left for me to eat.
