Civilization: Beyond Earth - INTEGR (Soyuz) Part 7
As the various Civs fall, I am stealing their technology to give me access to even more affinities. Opting to integrate some hybrid units into my ranks, we need to finish off the NSA so that I can give the PAC my full attention. Chungsu's capital is in the hands of the NSA, so I need to grab that in order to secure my victory through Domination. And once the PAC is the only enemy army left, they can have my undivided attention as I collapse on them from two fronts... ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTl8dq8t7lo
With the first two routes down, we now go further back to rectify something that happened completely by accident. In order to bring this mission to an end before Lance can kill himself (again), I use my overleveled characters to just barrel through and get Ledin to the stairs before Lance even has the chance to attack anyone. As a result, he has joined us in order to try to talk some sense into his King...

And here is what is essentially the grand finale. We hit the bottom of the Zeroth Stratum and get to find what was missing throughout our journey through Crossbell. It is a three stage boss where every stage has its own team. I wanted to try to do one of them without a dodge tank, but ultimately it is just more hassle than it is worth.
With this out of the way, the only thing left is to do the Daydreams. I mentioned that I will not both with the challenge doors anymore as they get incredibly tedious and don't really offer anything of value. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with what the game has to offer, and after reading about the Calvard adventure coming up, it seems like the writing team has kind of lost the plot. I am happy that the Crossbell games got physical copies to go with their translations. Now, I just hope something can be arranged for Sky as well, then I can depart the series content.

The title here is a little deceptive, as once I get "Surf" I head to the Power Plant in search of my electric type. Who just so happens to be a steel type. Which just happens to be immune to poison. Which just so happens to be the type Koga uses. What a series of coincidences, right?
The bad news though is the Mr. Mime is part Fairy, which is weak to poison and puts me in a compromising position. Luckily, Dugtrio is also fairly effective against them. However, the breakout star of the video is when my preferred bird cuts loose. I suspect it won't be the last time we see that either...

Diablos is much more threatening for less mobile weapons, and I do have the option of using the Wyvern Blast to punish her heavily telegraphed charges, which is probably something to do for a speed run if I had the desire to do one.
Blos has to real rare drops for us to farm, and being able to continuously strike her head means easy horn farming. Her set may only be of interest to Lance and Gunlance users, but even then, I think I would rather take a specialized mixed set than use this. This would be the heavily defensive option while you may be able to find offensive options if you look elsewhere.

My headache begins. Arycelle is traveling with the group as a guest, but make no mistake, she is a far cry from the ones we've seen before. She may be an archer, but I repeatedly saw her get in close range on this map, committing suicide in the process. To make things worse, she is not packing a Shiftstone or anything of the sort, so when she dies, it is automatically permanent and we are out the character. I would go as far as to say that her AI here is more of a challenge than the enemy itself.
The only silver lining to this map, is that we get the marks for one of the jobs I am really interested in. The bad part is that we don't have the weapons to effectively use it, so its potential will fail to be achieved for some time now.
Lastly, I am really getting annoyed here at us re-treading old maps, where the only difference is that we start on the opposite side than we did the previous time. I was hoping that if we were fighting here again that it would be a different part of the lake, or something would occur to change things up, but I get the impression that right here is when the map designers either started to run out of time or money and start recycling from the previous chapter. This is always a red flag to me, especially seeing as we are still less than halfway through the game.

We arrive in Mainz and enter the mine only to learn it was a trap. Sealed inside, we move deeper trying to find some clues only to encounter an even bigger mystery. Luckily, some unexpected help arrives who is finally able to explain what has been going on this chapter, setting up a slow burning conflict for the remainder of the game.

This week goes by quite a bit more quickly than others. Part of it may be that due to Hollow Leg and a lot of time spent, Beat and Neku are packing some serious power, able to do a number on the bosses as we encounter them.
For most of the pig noise, we popped those as we went, so I just have to wipe out the stragglers, then it is up to doing the day's unique events to get some items and then we're done.
With this, we can move onto Another Day. A day that ends with us.

As the Lunar Surface circles the drain, the group decides to make a last ditch effort to Chris to see if she can twist any arms to leverage things in the favor of the general population. Sadly, in the end it doesn't matter, because revenge so thoroughly planned is not going to be averted by someone as fresh as Chris...

With my cards still in effect, I want to get some games with the guys, so you see the four of us back together and causing chaos.
I think this is my first Lucario game, and I didn't really notice how bad his ult was here. It is potentially the worst in the game, but on the flip side, his moves are pretty nice. His passive is really crazy too, but I don't know what the CD on it is.
As for Slowbro and Greninja, you've seen them quite a bit here, but I am still fairly new to Crustle. I've learned some things about it since then, so the next game with it will be a bit better, but I am still not entirely a fan. Guys with mobility can dodge his major attack and you have no way to mitigate the CD. He is no Skarner, and I definitely feel it here.
