The world is brimful of different cultures, traditions, religions and languages. People living in one geographic location comprehend things in a different manner as compared to those living in another geographic location. However, one thing that is common in people all around the world is their constant search for spiritual enlightenment and the spiritual experience itself. Spirituality, unlike religion, is universal and gives you freedom to choose your path and experience. The traditional concept of enlightenment comes from the spiritual traditions of India notably the various schools of Yoga, Vedanta and Buddhism and denotes the highest state of spiritual attainment. The End of the path. Nowadays there are many people who judge themselves to be enlightened, and for 99% of those enlightened gurus are either confused about full enlightenment or they have no experience or they are fake gurus. The ego is a master of deceit, and it can hide itself in spirituality too. ▶️ Gradual or Sudden Enlightenment: Many of the traditions mentioned above agree that enlightenment is already here and now, and that it is our true nature of reality. We often get carried away by an emotional explanation of enlightenment. But no enlightened being can tell you about when they became enlightened because it a gradual process that grows unnoticed. One day you simply realize your ego is dead and you are no longer bound by your humanity. Since the human is dead, an enlightened being cannot tell you stories. They can remember the bliss of transition, slowly after decades of effort ▶️ Enlightenment is a Direction, Not a Goal: Full enlightenment is possible, and is not only for monks. However, it is extremely rare. I believe that at any time in the world there are probably few people in that peak of achievement. Many people feel discouraged, frustrated, or less motivated. All of these issues come up when we think of enlightenment as an inflexible goal, but these problems can also disappear the moment we make a small adjustment in our mindset. ▶️ Putting Things in Perspective: In many traditions, the teachings are quite binary either ignorant, or enlightened. As enlightenment is so rare Many of us are encumbered by our own ideals and beliefs, we are serious amateurs, but very few of us are willing to practice like those masters. Many meditations involve focusing on the breath. This is perhaps the easiest way to begin meditating and you may never need to look further. Begin with the Breath Awareness Meditation and when you find that you are able to follow the breath for periods of time, you can try the Stillness in the Breath meditation. The idea is simply to focus your attention on your breathing—to its natural rhythm and flow and the way it feels on each inhale and exhale. One of the easiest ways to reduce stress is to simply focus your attention on your breath. It's a form of "entry level" meditation that anyone can do. You'll notice an immediate sense of relaxation that could help protect your health over time. The most basic way to do mindful breathing is simply to focus your attention on your breath, the inhale and exhale. You can do this while standing, but ideally you’ll be sitting or even lying in a comfortable position. Your eyes may be open or closed, but you may find it easier to maintain your focus if you close your eyes. ▶️ The Physical and Emotional side of Mindful Breathing Meditation Benefits: • Reduce stress levels in your body. • Lower your heart rate. • Lower your blood pressure. • Improve diabetic symptoms. • Reduce depression. • Better manage chronic pain. • Better regulate your body's reaction to stress and fatigue. • Reduce the possibility of burnout for caregivers. The simple discipline of concentration brings us back to the present moment and all the richness of experience that it contains. It is a way to develop mindfulness, the faculty of alert and sensitive awareness. And it is an excellent method for cultivating the states of intense meditative absorption known as dhyana. As well as this, the mindfulness of breathing is a good antidote to restlessness and anxiety, and a good way to relax: concentration on the breath has a positive effect on your entire physical and mental state.
