Let's talk key fobs! So I drive A LOT of rental cars. I'm writing this in the Spring of 2019 and I am quickly approaching my 300th rental in 4 years (I rent about 2 a week). Anyway, I've developed a rather strong preference for key fobs recently and I was curious if you have the same opinion as me. So here's your 7 choices: #1 - 2019 Chrysler Pacifica #2 - 2019 Toyota Corolla #3 - 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT (the hatchback model) #4 - 2019 Chevy Malibu LT (my favorite) #6 - 2019 Nissan Sentra #7 - 2018 Ford Escape Personally I like the Malibu and Pacifica keys. And not just because their fobs, but because they feel like they're made out of higher quality materials so they have a bit of weight to them. That's just me though. Mazda's marketing speak calls it a "SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed electronically controlled sport automatic trans mission". Horsepower: 186 @ 6,000 rpm Fuel Type: Regular unleaded MPG City: 24 MPG Highway: 31 Combined MPG: 26 Fuel Cap Location: driver's side Fuel Tank Capacity: 13.5 gallons (12.7 gallons on AWD model) **No Rear Power Liftgate on the Select (this trim). That's only available on the "Premium Package" trim, the highest trim that starts at $28,200. I think that's crazy. Why isn't this standard? Handling: Fantastic. Turning at slow speeds: Very tight. This SUV is extremely easy to park, my only complaint is that there is limited visibility out of the rear window and the rear camera uses a fish-eye lens. Not a deal breaker, at least for me, but keep it in mind. If you have a difficult driveway/parking space to reverse out of, you may want to consider a different vehicle. Turning at higher speeds: Wow. The CX-30 drives super aggressively. It's a ton of fun to drive. You gotta check this one out yourself. Acceleration: Not bad. From a stop: Pretty good. You only have an inline 4 with 186 hp, so you can't expect too much. It's fast, but not crazy fast. While moving: Very responsive. It only takes about half a second for the CX-30 to respond. Cabin Noise: Decent. I didn't have to increase the volume on my podcast to understand what was being said, so I was happy.
