Afghan Children Not Welcome in 서부초등학교 Seoboo Elementary School Ulsan. Sadly, 27 children of the Afghani settlers in Ulsan, were denied admittance to Seoboo Elementary school this year. The protesting parents feel that the children should receive 6 months of education at a different institution prior to being admitted to the school, which is complete none sense. They may appear to be concerned with the childrens inability to function in the new class environment, seeing that they do not speak Korean, but get the feeling that they would not be opposed to these children going to another elementary school.

About me:
I am an Expat with close to a decade and a half of ESL experience. I am the Franchising Director for Shane English Korea based out of Uslan, South Korea and know a thing or two about starting and operating an ESL business. I have also lived in South Korea since 2005, and although far from an authority figure on the cultural intricacies of the South Korea, I have some basic understanding of why things are the way they are, which I hope to share with those willing to listen.
In the Korea Podcast I share news pertaining to life in South Kroea as well as the cryptocurrency market here on the penninsula.
The most recent focus of the podcast has been on interviewing expats who reside in South Kroea and spend their livelihood doing things beyond teaching. With that I hope to bring some insight into the possibilities open to expats living and working in South Korea, beyond teaching.
Over the past 144 episodes, I have had the pleasure of sitting down with some pretty interesting individuals and I hope to continue this for the foreseable future.

This is the second video on Korean Ocean Fishing, on the Living Korea channel. The first time we went out on the ocean was in September and I caught nothing.
This time around, the situation was different. i was catching fish one after another, so many infact that my rod refused to keep all of them, and I lost 3 good fish as a result.
Luckily this monster, over a meter in length, was the prize winner for the entire boat.
The way ocean fishing in Korea is done, is clearly not the way you may be used to, having watching videos from Mexico, the coast of Australia, or many other tropical regions. The waters of the East sea are a lot colder, and game fishing a lot dofferent. Yet, for the amateur, a lot of fun.

Climbing 2400 meters in Korea may be easier said than done. For once there aren't any peaks that high. So how does one do it?
The trick is to hike two mountains back to back, one of them twice. In this video I climb Gajisan, which stands at a height of 1241 meters, then Unmunsan at 1188 meters, and then back up Gajisan in order to ascend back to the location of my parked car. Indeed this whole experience may have been more than 2400 meters, but since the lowest point on the descent between the two peaks, does not reach sea level, the climbs to Unmunsan and back up Gajisan, would have been left a few meters short of their original heights.
The treck left me extremely tired, and I was sore for the entire, following week. But the sense of achievement was beyond belief, and something that is not easily put into words. One has to experience it to understand it.

Should you think about coming to teach English in South Korea? What are the visa changes to long term resident expats?I will address a recent question asked of me on Facebook just a couple days ago, and hope to provide some answers in this 30 minute podcast.
As to myself.
I am an Expat with close to a decade and a half of ESL experience. I operate a private language school franchise in the city of Ulsan, South Korea and know a thing or two about starting and operating an ESL business in South Korea. In this podcast I share some of my ideas and knowledge with a wider audience and also hope to learn new things along the way. I hope to provide our viewers with insights on how to start a Hagwon in South Korea, discuss some pitfalls and success stories, and bring an overall awareness to the beginning and running of innovative companies.
Teaching English in Korea comes with a lot of challenges for both the teachers and owners. In discussions with our guests I try to cover as many topics related to Hagwon Startups and teaching English in Korea as well as globally as our combined experience of this field allows.
Over the past 65 episodes, I have had the pleasure of sitting down with some pretty interesting individuals and I hope to continue this for the foreseable future.

Lunar New Year in the Household of a Korean Family Part 2 2019. This second part is a follow up and conclusion to the first video published last week. I have been trying to keep it timely and relevant, although the Lunar New Year celebrations took place last week, which is why I still haven't posted the climbing video.
But fear not, the second part to the climbing video, and I think perhaps even a 3rd, will be uploaded over the course of the following week. Most likely over the weekend.
I have tried to preserve as much authenticity of the Lunar New Year event as the audiences attention spans would allow. It is hard to maintain attention and moments that drag tend to be skipped. The ceremony is one long moment that seemingly drags on forever, which is why I tried to trim it down into consumable chunks.
I must admit this is not the best work I could have had done, but it is a retrospectively derived answer
