Hi Guys!
In this video I was planning to talk about the Orthodox Easter traditions but on Tuesday night I had to bring my dad to hospital... it was probably the most stressful Holy week for me.
However, I filmed this video while my father was still in the hospital.
Obviously with all the stress I could not cover all the Easter Traditions but I will bring you with me to my local church to share one of the traditions we have on Good Friday.
You will also see the eggs I have painted. I was hesitating if I should paint eggs but eventually I did because I wanted my father to feel the spirit of Easter upon his return home.
The video also features my visit to the Sofia Zoo. The Zoo is located in a close proximity to the hospital where my dad was staying and so I decided that it would be a good idea to go for a walk over there.

In my opinion, it is a little bit too small but nevertheless it is a lovely garden and if you love plants you might like it.
This is the kind of garden that would be suitable for special events but I cannot compare it to the beautiful botanic gardens in Dublin for example.

Hello everyone!
In this video I will share with you my visit to the Rila Mountain, I will have lunch at the tavern The Magic Of Rila, then I am going to explore The Rila Monastery, hike to The Cave of Ivan Rilski, Try Real Bulgarian Yogurt, and finally hike to the Stob Earth Pyramids.
The Rila Monastery is situated in the southwestern part of the Rila Mountains, 117 km to the south of Sofia, with an altitude 1,150m above sea level. The Monastery is regarded as Bulgaria’s most prominent historical, cultural and architectural monument, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts 900 000 visitors each year.
The second place we are going to visit is the cave of Ivan Rilski. He was a hermit and initially he was living in this cave located a bit higher in the mountains. The cave is 3 km away from the monastery and once you park your car you will have to hike for about 20 minutes. The main reason why people go there is because it is believed that if you pass through the tunnel of Ivan Rilski you are going to cleanse your soul.

The Stob Pyramids are natural rock formations formed under the influence of accelerated erosion that destroys some of the pyramids over time and creates new ones on a continuous basis. The wind, the sun and the rain have been at work for thousands of years creating incredible figures out of a plain hill.

Hello friends,
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria, situated on the banks of Maritsa River in the historical region of Thrace. Plovdiv is among the oldest cities in the world, with a history that dates to the 6th century BC.
The town has been home to quite a few civilizations over the centuries, and its rich history is reflected in its architecture and culture today.
I wanted to make this video and show you what Plovdiv looks like during the fall season and because my previous visit was so busy – I had 5 hours to explore all the historical sites and the Great Basilica, this time I wanted to take it easy and just enjoy the autumn vibes and the atmosphere of my favourite Bulgarian city.
Autumn is lovely in Bulgaria, the exhausting heat drifts away, the mornings and evenings become cooler, but the day temperatures still reach about 25 degrees Celsius.
The autumn season is very colourful and impressive in Plovdiv because there are seven hills, and each hill offers stunning views overlooking the other hills and parts of the city.
The episode will feature the historical centre of Plovdiv, Tsar Simeon’s Garden, the Clock Tower, the interior and exterior of the Dzhumaya Mosque, the Ancient Stadium, and the old town. I will also show you a hidden spot where you least expect to see Roman ruins.
I will stop for a cup of coffee and to try a Turkish pastry - Kunefe (it is made from kadaif and cheese and it is absolutely delicious). Then, I will bring you along with me to the old town of Plovdiv, where I am going to try a traditional Bulgarian dish called Patatnik. The restaurant is pleasant, it offers great views to the city and if you love cats there is a clowder of cats that will keep you company.

It features Nebet Tepe, Bunardzhik Tepe, the monument of Aliosha, the Roman Theatre, the old town, the Great Basilica and the Small Basilica.
