Folding "Low" Workbench / Work Platform for working on truck engine
I have a plugged EGR valve that I will be cleaning in the next video. I needed a platform to get up to a working height to comfortably work on the engine. This workbench / platform is a 4' x 8' Sheet, 32" High. It has folding legs and is heavy, so be prepared to have a helper carry it or use a hand truck, or make a wheel dolly like I explain towards the end of the video. =============================== If you like what you are seeing, and want to see more "How To / DIY" videos, please subscribe! I didn't want to go to the trouble of making a Thien Centrifugal Dust Separator, so I browsed around the youtube space and came up with my own idea. This uses a garbage can, a baffle and some elbows attached to the lid. Cost = Cheap, Build Time = 3 - 4 Hours

Part 5 of 5. This is the fifth in 5 parts on building Structural Steel Stairs. This was an actual set of stairs for a customer. Looking back in hind sight, I would have probably used Excel and would have used an extra "Control Part" with all of my reference information embedded into that controlling part.

I needed to get the Roof Rack / Lumber Rack off my Ford F250 and it is way too heavy to lift by hand. So I made this crazy wooden Gantry Lift - Hoist. It is 16' tall and other than the height I had to work at, it was very easy to build.
A couple of days later with some simple reinforcement in the corners, I lifted my 1500lb trailer on one end to work on the axles. It took a 3 pulley setup, but did lift the trailer so I could inspect the axles.
I plan on using it to service my mowers, to be able to lift them up onto a table so I don't have to lay on the ground.

I went to the Dunes with my brother over on the Oregon coast in Coos Bay. I was having some vibration issues before this trip, and following the trip, things got significantly worse. This video is Part 2 of me changing out the carrier bearing, replacing the pinion shaft seal and bolts. In this video, I change the pinion shaft seal. I bought U-Joints for all parts of the driveshaft, but they don't seem to need replacing so far. Will do them down the road and probably do a bunch of painting of undercarriage parts, but for now, Enjoy!

So, I was able to remodel the shop and get some new tools. The goal is to have a mixed use fabrication area and as we go along as a channel, we will be able to start doing more and more complex and interesting projects. This video is just me talking about why I can't seem to get a consistent youtube presence, what my intention has been all along, what happened since the last "intro", and a bunch of rambling and pictures of the remodel of the shop. Hope you enjoy, Skud!

We went camping for my son's birthday and on the way home, we blew a "hot" side turbo flex hose. The coupler that connects the intercooler to the steel charge pipe. Upon further inspection, I found that there was also a pinhole in the coupler that connects the steel charge pipe to the turbo. After a bit of online research I shied away from the cheap amazon silicon couplers in favor of one offered by one of the diesel aftermarket parts companies online. At the time of this video, the two couplers cost approx. $90.00. I will post a link at a later date. See video for brand.
