Expanding on an observation from his last talk, Andreas asks why we talk so much about the cartels in drugs and oil, but rarely about one of the largest cartels in the world: banking. He analyses recent (unacknowledged) history with the 2008 financial crisis, the corrupt revolving door with regulators, how kleptocracy is destroying democracy, and why Bitcoin matters as an exit when voice is no longer an option.
This talk took place on November 10th 2018 as part of the 'Internet of Money' tour at the Edmonds Center for the Arts near Seattle, Washington: https://antonopoulos.com/event/the-internet-of-money-tour-seattle/

The use of technology by people with cognitive or physical disabilities, the disadvantaged, the disempowered. Given sufficient good user-interface and software design, apps can help give you agency and gain power. When you give the disabled power and agency, everyone else can also use that technology. In the February 2024 patron Q&A, Andreas answered questions related to DCA (dollar cost averaging) purchasing and avoiding dust (too small to move due to fees) transactions. The question made a great point - which was how to balance the competing mantras: (1) buy using DCA, which means buying small amounts each week regardless of price, (2) don't leave bitcoin on an exchange, and (3) don't reuse addresses.
In this video, Andreas discusses how to balance those mantras and suggests one possible solution. As always, your risk model and your needs will be your own - use this information as a guide for you to evaluate your risks, your needs, and your goals. Especially when it comes to Bitcoin

Is Bitcoin anonymous if exchanges and some wallets require identities? Should we assume that our identity information will be leaked if we use KYC-ed wallets? Besides buying, what is a reliable way to acquire bitcoin? How can I set up a wallet without providing identity? Do you still recommend using CoinJoins? Could they become illegal?
These questions are from the third and fourth sessions of MOOC 12, which took place on September 27th, October 4th, and October 26th 2019 respectively.
