http://SliderDomination.com Pretty much every game ever, with the exception of perfect games, has always had an inning of adversity. At Least one. That inevitable monster will always show up. As position #1 on the diamond, your job is to identify it, accept its challenge, and then work through it. First and foremost, done by slowing down the game. How does it begin? A broken bat single, a hit batter, an error, a bad call, a mental lapse in the field? It doesn’t matter. The pattern is created and the monster appears. The job is then to minimize the damage. Some runs most likely will score. A good manager and pitching coach will understand this. That job is done by making your pitches. Nothing changes from every other scenario which I have covered here on the Slider Domination channel. When the chaos reaches a boiling point. Take a step off the mound, regroup, breath, talk to yourself, and get back to work. Make 1 pitch at a time with full conviction. Focus on the execution over the outcome. Keep in mind, that the objective is to finish the inning. Don’t let any more adverse situations deter your focus and lead to pointing the finger. If the “should be” 3rd out to end the madness goes awry, keep doing your job of making pitches. Maintain your focus until the 3rd out is recorded. If in the long run, the adversity inning limits your time on the mound that day, so be it. It’s a team game. Your effort will be appreciated.
