Earthing systems for generators.
Although an earth electrode may be present, it's not likely to be a TT arrangement.

This is an older video from October 2013, not previously published due to issues with the sound - the microphone picked up a load of very loud mains interference throughout the parts recorded on the bench (green background). Sound has now been cleaned up as much as possible but may still have some minor problems. It can't be improved any further.
A normal dimmer switch is modified to provide two outputs, one dimmed and the other not dimmed. This is for a particular application in a kitchen, where the dimmer output is used for three 50W halogen lamps on the ceiling, and the undimmed output is for a set of fluorescent tubes fixed the wall units to illuminate the worktop.

The proper way would be to have two separate switches for each set of lighting, but whoever installed it originally only included wiring for a single switch. Replacing the wiring would have involved ruining the newly plastered kitchen wall and ceiling, and the only other option was to change the lighting for some other type. The property owner did not want to do either of these things, so this modified dimmer was the only remaining option.

WARNING: This involves mains voltage. The dimmer shown is just one of many types available, others are likely to be different inside, and if unsure in any way, do NOT attempt such modifications yourself. This is a record of how this particular item was modified, it is NOT a guide or instructional.

A 2 bedroom 'newly refurbished' flat with plenty of recent electrical work, but no certificates and it doesn't comply with BS7671. Featuring recycled old sockets, a consumer unit from 30 years ago, plugs from the 1980s and a generous helping of couldn't be bothered.

A dangerous and non-compliant mains adaptor plug supplied with an electrical item which had a Chinese type mains plug fitted to it.
The problems are all due to the adaptor supplied - there is nothing wrong with the moulded on Chinese plug, other than it being unsuitable for use in the UK.
The proper thing to do is to supply the UK plug already fitted, or with a fitted semi-permanent fused adaptor such as the comparison example shown in the video. This is not just a personal preference - it's the law, and has been for almost 20 years.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1994/1768/made
Problems with the adaptor:
Pins are not sleeved
Pins are too close to the edge of the adaptor
There is no fuse
Pin spacing is incorrect, probably due to the flexible plastic not securing them properly
The 2 pin plug does not fit properly into the adaptor and will easily fall out.
