BotR Desert Brutality 2020 Day 2: stages 4-6. The usual geeky over-analysis and technique discussion
As discussed in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgfpgZDEOno Mike is modelling a .223 Remington Colt SP1, a 9x19mm Browning High Power in a Canadian P51 holster, a vaguely Borneo campaign jungle getup (plus sweater and scarf), and a basic 44 pattern webbing rig.

Sometimes Enfield does things right. Normally when they're just polishing up an existing design. Like the L1A1 SLR, the British version of the FN FAL.

Mike and Rob discuss how the lessons learned in the Boer War impacted the rifles and personal carrying equipment of the British soldier in the run up to 1914. How and why did it result ultimately in the SMLE Mk.III and 1908-pattern belt kit, from a starting point of the MLE/MLM and Slade-Wallace equipment?

According to Fuddlore (including internal French army Fuddlore), the FAMAS is designed around steel-cased 5.56/.223 and horrible things will happen if you shoot brass cased ammo in it.
What's the reality?

Bloke's gorgeous platinum-haired wife, through being a bizarre and dozy git, inspires him to invite you into the rich history and wonderful world of S&W hammer block safeties through the ages.
Featuring a century-old .455 Hand Ejector Second Model, an M&P in .38 S&W, and a very early 586. Plus, a rare and privileged glimpse of his beautiful wife!
Also includes not only a dumb, kitchy sketch, but also bonus material of what Every Schoolboy (and -girl) should know, namely how to get a S&W apart (disassembly) and back together again (reassembly) without wrecking it, and how the various internal hammer blocking thingamabobs do their thang.

WARNING: boring, geeky video alert!
Thanks to various gunwriters over the past century, it is commonly believed that all British soldiers in the runup to World War 1 had to shoot at least 15 rounds of rapid fire with their SMLE or long Lee-Enfield .303" at 300 yards for their pay. In fact, this is very commonly believed, and a supposed record of 38 rounds in a minute is alledged to have been fired by a Sgt. Instructor Snoxall, for whom no records seem to exist... Jesse Wallingford, on the other hand, seems to have fired his 36 in a demonstration.
Wallingford was an interesting chap, you should read up on him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Wallingford
Anyway, using the Musketry Regulations 1909, The Bloke shows the received wisdom to be a complete myth. So this is a real single-document mythbust right here. Boring, eh?
So yeah, the spoiler - the mad minute seems to have been an instructor demonstration. Nothing more.
Enjoy!
