Taylor Bathel joins Something For Everybody this week. Taylor is a functionally-focused clinical nutritionist and integrative health coach with 10+ years of healthcare experience.
In this conversation, Taylor discusses the importance of personal well-being and the need to prioritize small day-to-day interactions. She shares her own journey of realizing that external achievements do not lead to happiness and the importance of finding balance in life. She also discusses the concept of understanding the body holistically and the challenges of segmented healthcare. Finally, she explores the significance of gut health and the gut-brain connection.
This conversation explores the impact of the microbiome on health, the gut-brain connection, and the effects of chronic stress on digestion and nutrient absorption. It emphasizes the importance of addressing the root cause of gut issues and the role of mental health in overall well-being. The conversation also highlights the four pillars of mental health: eating well, moving well, sleeping well, and thinking well. Additionally, it discusses the power of breathing and meditation in regulating the nervous system and the importance of paying attention to the body and trusting intuition.
