Distro Delves Encore is where we customize and try different things with the Distro LIVE on real hardware (the Distro Delves PC) and find ways to crash the Distro at the end of the stream!
Having a look at Gnome vs Plasma Desktop on Debian Bookworm to see which desktop is best for gaming performance on Linux.
This was originally supposed to be a video about Linux Gaming distros (SteamOS, etc) but I thought that a simpiler video just looking at the desktops rather than the distros would be more interesting!
There *might* be a follow up to this video comparing Mate to Lxqt depending on how much interest there is on it. This video was a lot of work to produce so it might not be any time soon. ;)

Fedora 27 was released today so let's see how upgrading from F26 to F27 goes!
Turns out, the upgrade experience was pretty lousy. Despite Fedora 27 being a pretty unremarkable release (for the desktop user), there seemed to be a regression with Gnome/GDM in detecting whether or not the current display driver is compatible with Wayland. The result was my Nvidia driver was completely disabled when I logged in for the first time.
There was another issue with VMware on Fedora 27. Whilst it may have been an issue with VMware Workstation, its still rather annoying that simply upgrading my Fedora version cause yet another problem.
In general, I'm disappointed at the issues I ran into upgrading Fedora this time around. Fedora 25 to 26 was seamless and awesome. From 26 to 27 has been a pretty crummy experience.

Rapter: Call Of The Shadows is a classic MSDos game published by Apogee Software in the mid 1990s.
Most people remember Raptor as a classic Apogee game but it was actually developed by Cygnus Studios (known now as Mountain King Studios). Cygnus Studios later went on to develop the classic game Strife.
Raptor: Call Of The Shadows is a candidate for the best top-down scrolling shooter of the DOS gaming era and possibly any platform ever.
In 1999 Mountain King re-released Raptor as a native Windows game with better audio and graphics. Raptor was later once again re-related in 2010 being fully cross-platform with Windows, Linux, and Mac based systems.

From my boy beachbear's perspective. We just chillin' and suddenly BAM. But also, why is the gas station blown up? GTA Online is probably my favorite game for just this reason.

Chocolatey is a cmd line tool that uses Powershell scripts that are very similar to a batch file to install and setup applications on Windows.
Chocolatey is open source & licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL). It is built on top of the Nuget framework, a code-specific package management tool build and open-sourced by Microsoft for platforms that run NET Framework.
The way Chocolatey works are nearly identical to the Arch AUR. The Chocolatey repos host build scripts that download binaries and installers from websites and install them into your system. The Chocolatey install scripts are written in a language called PowerShell which is somewhat similar to bash.
Chocolatey is mostly a CLI application but most end-users can benefit from the ChocolateyGUI, which is an unofficial package written by the Chocolatey community. Chocolatey uses Nuget, which is a tool from Visual Studio, to fetch and install packages on Windows.

This was my first time using the Phoronix Test Suite and I ran into numerous issues with it. Despite the issues, I found it to be an amazing tool for gather data from benchmarks. Expect to see more videos like this one in the future!
Let me know if this was a good mix of CPU + Gaming benchmarks or if you guys would rather only see the gaming benchmarks!

Here it is! ~ My top 3 favorite desktop Linux distributions, 2019 Edition!
In this video, we'll look at Linux Mint, elementaryOS, KDE Neon, as well as Solus Linux, and Manjaro!
I want to clarify what I mean by "Desktop Linux Distribution" - basically any Linux distro that is specifically made for the "everyman" Linux user. There are lots of Linux distros with specialized purposes, such as Kali Linux, but there are also distros that are tailored for developers or sysadmin work. Pop_OS, for example, is a fantastic distro, but I feel it is geared towards developers rather than everyday desktop users.
Be sure to check out the companion article I wrote for this video on Medium - https://medium.com/@egee_irl/top-3-beginner-friendly-linux-distros-f3cd6bbd725d

We're using Ansible and Vagrant to build, setup, and provision Virtualbox VMs.
Vagrant can be used to deploy a basic box from a Vagrantfile but you can also specify what type of provisioner (if any) you want to use to set up your Vagrant box. In this case, we used an Ansible Playbook to provision our Vagrant box.
Ansible is a configuration management tool similar to the popular tools Chef and Puppet, though Ansible doesn't require a server so it's more like Puppet Masterless or Chef Solo. Ansible is also very similar to SaltStack.
Ansible and other configuration management tools are invaluable to DevOps engineers. Configuration management tools such as Ansible form the backbone of continuous integration pipelines and are often called Infrastructure As Code.
CM tools are often used for various systems administration tasks, especially around networking and server deployments.
