How To Automatically Mount Partitions or Hard Drives in Linux – Gnome Disks – Ubuntu – Arch
In this video I cover a GUI method for automatically mounting disks and partitions at boot in Linux using Gnome Disks.

INSTALLATION
Gnome Disks can be installed from your distribution's repository using a pack manager.
For example, in Ubuntu based distributions, you would use the following Terminal command.
sudo apt install gnome-disk-utility
GNOME DISK USAGE
The interface of Disks is straightforward, on the left you have a list of all your physical disks, and on the right how each physical disk is broken up into partitions.
For example, on my system, I have a SSD with Windows 10 installed on it using several partitions.
To manually mount a partition, you click the triangle button, but to permanently mount it on boot, select the gear and cogs button, and then click the Edit Mount Options option.
Next, toggle off the User Session Defaults, and make sure that Mount at system startup is ticked, and in the Mount Point field, a location is specified.
Once done, click OK, and the next time you boot your system, that partition will now be mounted on boot.

Step 1: Ensure that you have the latest GPU driver installed that supports DXVK.
Normally this is installed using a GUI tool or through the Terminal, the Lutris wiki page on drivers is a good reference point.

Step 2: Install the latest version of Wine stable
The easiest method is through a Terminal.
If using an Arch based distribution:

Step 5: Install Starcraft II Lutris script

Install the WINE DXVK script.
So download, install and follow the instructions, sign to your Blizzard Account when prompted, download the game as normal and launch once finished.

In this video I give my thoughts on Windows, and why I still dual boot it alongside Linux on my desktop.
My Main Reasons Why I Still Use Windows
1. Windows offers 99% compatibility with my game library, and I have many games that perform worse on Linux, the majority of these been DirectX 12 games, plus I have some games that do not work at all on Linux.
2. Since Windows 7, I have not experienced Windows rot, BSODs or malware infections and although Windows 10 and 11 have telemetry, I have no real objection to it.
3. My initial experience of Windows 11 has been positive although I am disappointed that direct storage and Android support was not available on day one.
In conclusion, Windows is probably the best operating system on the PC platform, and is nowhere as bad as some people make it out to be.

This video covers downloading and burning the Ubuntu 20.04 ISO to a flash drive using Balena Etcher and booting and installing the distribution from the flash drive.
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE UBUNTU 20.04 ISO

So open up Ubuntu’s homepage, click on the Download tab, and select the Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 LTS ISO.
STEP 2: DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF BALENA ETCHER

STEP 3: USING BALANA ETCHER TO FLASH AN ISO
Click on Flash from file, select the Ubuntu 20.04 ISO, then click on Select target and select the flash drive, and finally click on Flash to begin the process.
STEP 4: INSTALLING UBUNTU 20.04 FROM THE USB DRIVE
Reboot the system and boot off the USB drive by pressing the function key that corresponds to the boot menu, usually F8 or F12.
Select either Ubuntu 20.04 or Ubuntu USB which correspond to UEFI or Legacy BIOS, and begin the Ubuntu 20.04 installation wizard.
Firstly clicking on Install Ubuntu, selecting your keyboard layout, choosing either a Normal or Minimal installation, ticking both Download updates while installing Ubuntu and Install third-party software for graphics and Wi-Fi hardware and additional media formats.
Next choose the Erase disk option, specify your locale, set up your User Account, Computer Name and a password, and finally click Continue to begin the installation process.
Once the process is completed, you will be prompted to remove the USB flash drive and reboot the system.
On the login screen, type in your password, and run through the post installation wizard.

In this episode, I head into the Road of Sacrifices, get invaded, and defeat the Crystal Sage.
CRYSTAL SAGE BOSS FIGHT
This boss is quite difficult at this stage of the game, mainly because it can deal a lot of magic damage if not dodged or blocked, and to make it worse the second stage spawns several Crystal Sages increasing the chance of you getting hit.
My advice would be to immediately charge the boss and keep attacking until your stamina runs out, as the boss will likely be stun locked before teleporting, and when the second stage of the fight starts use throwing knives on the blue decoys as they only have one hp, then concentrate on the real Crystal Sage.

Now if you are not familiar with Pop OS, it is an Ubuntu based distribution developed by System 76 that has several gaming tweaks that are enabled out of the box.
They also provide two ISOs, one for AMD / Intel hardware and one for nVidia hardware, so choose the one that matches your hardware and it will install the latest available driver at point of installation and keep it updated through updates.
STEP 1: INSTALL WINE STAGING
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
wget -O - https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/winehq.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ focal main'
sudo apt update

STEP 2: INSTALL FERAL GAMEMODE
sudo apt install gamemode
STEP 3: INSTALL STEAM AND ENABLE PROTON AND GAMEMODE FOR ALL GAMES
sudo apt install steam
To enable Proton for all games, navigate to Steam / Settings / Steam Play / Advanced and tick the Enable Steam Play for all other titles, and restart to apply this setting.
To enable Gamemode for a game, click on the Properties of a game, navigate to SET LAUNCH OPTIONS and type in gamemoderun %command%.
STEP 4: INSTALL LUTRIS AND ENABLE GAMEMODE FOR ALL GAMES
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lutris
To enable it to work with Gamemode, then navigate to Preferences / System options / Command prefix and type in gamemoderun, and once done, click Save.
Please note that you will need to tick the show advanced options to see the Command prefix option.
