In basement 3 of the Chaos Shrine in the past, you’ll encounter Kraken by a nearby stairway. For this battle, Kraken’s stats are a little higher than the previous battle. It will spray some ink to blind your fighters, making them less likely to land attacks successfully. In addition, Kraken will unleash some lightning as part of its new moveset. Spells that give your team more evasion and protection would be recommended to avoid being blinded by the ink. After beating the Elite Four, you’ll end up home at Littleroot Town and watch TV about the news about a legendary Pokémon roaming all over Hoenn. If you choose blue, Latios will roam the routes of Hoenn. It will be on Level 40 but will flee on the first turn. If you choose red while watching the news bulletin, Latios will be at the Southern Island and you need an Eon Ticket to get there that can be obtained via Nintendo Event. If you have the Eon Ticket, go to the shipyard in Lillycove City and the attendant will examine the ticket you have so you can be eligible to go to the Southern Island. At the Southern Island, save your game in front of the mysterious ball. Interact with the mysterious ball and Latias will arrive. Latios will be on Level 50. Its signature move is Luster Purge, a move that will lower the target’s Special Defense stat 50% of the time when the move hits. Use Ultra Balls and status problems for a better capture result. Once you capture Latios at the Southern Island, you’ll notice that it is holding a special item called Soul Dew. Soul Dew raises the Special Attack and Special Defense stats if held by Latias or Latios.

After getting the Magma Stone on Route 18, go to Reversal Mountain and enter a cave where Bianca directed before so you can find Heatran. Save your game before you interact. Heatran is on Level 68. Fire type moves won’t work on it due to its Flash Fire ability. Dusk Balls would be recommended since you’re battling in a cave. When Heatran reaches Level 96, it learns its signature move called Magma Storm, which will prevent the target from fleeing and switching out for 2-5 turns.

At the safehouse in Driftveil City, Hugh will be there, and you can battle him there once per day. This round, his team is at higher levels and their movesets have updated as well. Unfezant will use Giga Impact that requires recharging the next turn. Flygon will use Draco Meteor while the Dragon Gem powers it up for once but its Special Attack stat will be sharply lowered when using it.

This level takes place underwater. Watch for Bloopers and fish swimming by as you swim through. A hole acts as an abyss and will try to pull you in, so you’ll have to swim harder to avoid being pulled down. Be sure to collect some coins as you swim by. At the end, use the pipe to return to the surface and cross the big stairway to reach the flagpole.

At the Lostlorn Forest, where you found a TM95 (Snarl), there is a Hidden Grotto. Enter this Hidden Grotto and you might encounter a special Pinsir. It ranges between Levels 20-25. It also has the hidden ability, Moxie. With this ability, the user’s Attack stat will go up after knocking out any Pokémon in battle.

Once you reach Virbank City, enter the gym and you’ll hear a band playing. The band is so loud that Roxie won’t even notice you unless you defeat both her drummer and guitarist. Once both band members are quieted down, you’ll be able to battle Roxie. Roxie uses Poison type Pokémon. In Challenge Mode, Grimer is extra to her team while Whilipede holds a Sitrus Berry. Koffing will use Smog to poison targets and Assurance if the target has already received damage that turn. Grimer will use Mud-Slap to make opponents less accurate and use Disable on the move they recently used. Whirlipede will use Protect to avoid attacks and Rollout to hit consecutively for 5 turns as every successive hit gets stronger. After the battle, you’ll receive the Toxic Badge and a TM09 (Venoshock). If the target is poisoned, Venoshock will do double the damage.

At the Battle Frontier, you’ll notice a fake tree. Save your game in front of it. Use the Wailer Pail on this fake tree and it will identify itself as Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo is on Level 40. Paralyze it or put it to sleep then use Ultra Balls.

On Route 13, where there are stairs before the entrance towards the Giant Chasm, there is a Hidden Grotto. Enter this Hidden Grotto and you may have a rare chance of encountering a special Spheal. It ranges between Levels 35-40. It also has the hidden ability, Oblivious. With this ability, the user cannot be infatuated by moves, such as Attract.

In Nacrene City’s museum, there’s a gym that has a maze of bookshelves. Each trainer will quiz you then battle you after getting the question right. Beat every trainer in the gym to open the way to the gym leader. Lenora uses Normal type Pokémon. Herdier will use Take Down for decent damage although hurting itself as well. Watchog will use Hypnosis to put opponents to sleep. After the battle, you’ll receive the Basic Badge and a TM67 (Retaliate). Retaliate will do double the damage if a teammate fainted the previous turn. Researcher Hawes will burst onto the scene notifying that Team Plasma has stolen some bones in the museum, including the Dragon Skull.
