10/24/2013 The Dividing Line Reviewing a Line of Fire Call
I decided to dedicate the entire program today to reviewing the first call Michael Brown took on The Line of Fire on Tuesday. It seemed to provide an excellent basis for actually addressing the most important elements of this controversy. I didn't expect to take the whole hour, but, that's what happened! Hopefully our listeners will find this a useful discussion. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4te8zwhFnY
Wow, what a mix! Lots of material at the start on true biblical justice, avoiding mobs, how intersectionality eats its own (Martina Navratilova), and the use of the “crisis” to get things done now, even if what you are really doing is just pushing forward your ultimate agenda. Then we took calls on various topics, and then at the end of the program I briefly read through the tweet by Dr. Anthony Bradley calling brothers in Christ “Oreos,” and what this means. Finished up with a discussion of how and why my debate challenge on Textual Traditionalism was declined. Somewhere in there my granddaughter Clementine called me on FaceTime, so I picked up and we talked briefly live on the program. She was joined by another of my granddaughters, Kadence, both wonderful young ladies being homeschooled by my daughter Summer. That was a fun little unplanned addition! We did our very first live DL from our new mobile command center, aka, our 5th wheel unit that will be my living quarters as I travel around the US in the future (starting at the end of next month with a nearly 4000 mile loop around the western US, followed by my journey to Atlanta for the G3 Conference at the end of September, and my annual trip to Missouri in late November/early December). I was a little distracted by some of the details, but I can see it will be a great spot for future programs. We looked briefly at some wild statements from Dr. Dale Tuggy, “analytical philosopher unitarian extraordinaire,” as he pontificated upon the dullards down below him in the intellectual scale. In the process we discussed the priority of divine revelation over philosophical categories and the need to keep the proper order in view. Should be back in the AOMobile next Tuesday, but this time, for the first time, seriously “on the road” during a brief test run up north here in Arizona. Managed to sneak in a third Dividing Line this week (since I have no idea what the next few weeks will bring, for, uh, medical reasons). Yup, talked a bit more about fairness, consistency, etc., and then moved on to a bit more on textual criticism, traditionalism, and the Comma Johanneum. I don’t know when the next DL will be, but, we will let folks know here, on Twitter, and on Facebook. Unless, of course, we get kicked out of social media before then!

Went straight to the office from the airport upon my return from Dallas to do the program today. Was joined by Mike O'Fallon of the Sovereign Alliance at the top of the hour, talking about the tour to Germany a few weeks ago, and about the upcoming Washington Summit he is organizing. Then we moved into a lengthy review and response to Jeff Dornik regarding "IFDs." Gave him the opportunity to call in and respond, but alas, he must have been too busy to do so. Finished up talking about the Lollards in our Reformation history recap. A "jumbo" edition today! More to come later in the week!

Finished up our response to Trent Horn on the topic of theopneustos, which we began two programs ago. But, I have started reading Rosaria Butterfield's new book, Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age, https://www.amazon.com/Five-Lies-Our-Anti-Christian-Age/dp/1433573539 which is due to be released on September 12th, and I shared a few quotes and thoughts that are directly relevant to the debate in Manheim, PA, on September 16th.

Today we started responding to Leighton Flowers’ attempt to respond to our basic discussion of one simple truth and reality: the Provisionist view of man’s will and God’s grace is completely in line with the Roman Catholic view at the time of the Reformation; that is, Flowers stands firmly with Erasmus against Luther on this topic. This is all about the sufficiency of grace versus the mere necessity of grace. This has been a theme we have discussed for decades. Flowers’ attempt to respond revealed so many important errors and weaknesses in the Provisionist position that we simply could not allow the opportunity to pass. We got about 20 minutes through the 50 minute or so response, so, be ready for another RFG in the near future!

Started off giving thanks for the life of Pastor Dennis Pillay in Durban, South Africa, a dear brother who passed into glory last week. Then we went to Zoom calls and covered topics such as the Descent of Christ, Catholic Answers, Christian YouTubers, the Lord's Supper, philosophy and extra biblical language, and equal ultimacy. In-depth questions! We have an amazing audience! An hour and twenty minutes today.

Spent nearly two hours in the AOMax studio today diving into the issues surrounding the proper translation and understanding of John’s testimony to Jesus in his Gospel, prompted by the exchange between Anthony Rogers and Brandon Tatum on Instagram, found here.
