This 72 Dodge camper van that I bought a few years ago is finally getting unearthed and worked on this week. I'm going to be living in it ASAP. No seriously. Yes. Totally serious. You'll see. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgYvgRPqzhE

I’ve been busy putting together the campaign for my first collection of drawings. There will be print and digital versions available. I’ll post a link when the campaign starts.

Ah, back to a "normal" automatic drawing, though they are becoming more illustrative all the time. Sometimes I'm just a vessel on this journey, as surprised as any viewer what turns up.

I love that I can take a photo or a drawing that I like the colors of and "sample" them easily into a palatte in the drawing program. That right there is a dimension only possible digitally. Anything can be a tool or a crutch. Further, so what if there is AI art out there. It doesn't dilute anything, us humans just have to up our game. One thing they will never have is an imagination.

I’m not doing as many drawings lately, but that’s because I’ve been working on a story to tie a lot of them together! More info to come… probably.

I still don't understand what makes the video length versus girth. I wish there were more settings that let me control video quality, but for now this works ok. Music would be nice, but don't hold your breath.

This is a time lapse video if me tearing apart an Akai Roberts Tube monoblock amplifier from one of their 60's reel to reel decks. The parts that are kept stay on the table at the end and the rest of the parts are thrown away or recycled. I will test and reuse some parts depending on what the new circuits installed will be. The grey dogbone resistors are very high quality and usually check out spot on, while the electrolytic capacitors tend to not be as reliable and the ceramic caps sound like crap. Though the oil caps that usually are in these amps for coupling are mostly still good and sound great, I tend to replace them with new caps anyway.

This is the first of several drawings done on my old tablet before I got the pro version. I liked the smaller screen better in this one, but no touch sensitivity! That was an interesting limitation, but I think the new small pro might be the best compromise? Anyway, this one was done in March 2021. I was still knocking the rust off after years of barely drawing. And of course it was from before I could hide the source photo.

More hybridizing my automatic drawing with illustrative techniques. I still hit the blank page with no intention of a subject, but as soon as they appear, I am pushing them into specific forms. It's turning into a delightful journey that I'm really enjoying.
