This is the last ever beer I made on the Robobrew before the divorce came through and I eloped with the Grainfather. This is supposed to be a session imperial stout, if such a thing exists. The plan was for it to come in under 7%, which isn't very sessionable I grant you but isn't 9%+ either. Didn't really go to plan. Yeast choice and mash temps didn't help.
This is based on Greg Hughes recipe in the bible.

Been on the lookout for a new stainless steel fermenter for a while and found this. I intend to fit it into an under-counter fridge but also want a conical base so it really needed to be the correct size. Went ahead and bought it so thought I'd do a review of sorts. Hopefully, this is helpful for someone out there.

Jeezo, where do you start with this? I have a chequered history with this style of beer but you'd think that the law of averages might mean me actually getting it right one day. The best ones I've done are always under 5% but anything over has been a mess. The higher the abv goes, the bigger the mess. This one clocks in at 6.3%.
Also, I'm going to come right out and say that Galaxy is the most disgusting hop I've ever tasted. It wasn't always like this, I seem to remember way back in the mid-teenies when I used it for the first time and it was great. Now it tastes like a coke can that's been dissolved in acid then whatever is left gets painted green and vacuum sealed. Horrible.
