A Vision of the Holy
I saw the Lord. Isaiah had a personal encounter with God. He got a revelation of the glory of God.

The God we worship created at least 100 billion galaxies — He is big enough to take care of us. God is seated on a throne, in authority and power. Let us subject ourselves under His sovereign rule. Psalms 95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Our king always occupies the throne. The Throne of Grace.

God’s majesty fills HIS temple. The temple was built by Him, and for Him. We are now His living temples. Made by Him. For Him to fill us.

It is easy to lose that sense of God’s majesty. Who He is and what He is doing. The whole earth is filled with His glory. Psalm 19:1 says the heavens declare His glory. The glory of God is still our great purpose and joy. God delights to set men and women on fire, and to send them forth as His messengers.

The creatures around the throne had wings covering their faces in humility. They gave praise unto God. They sang out, Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord. 1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

Isaiah cries: (5) Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips.

Here is Isaiah, God’s man. Imperfect, Flawed. Unclean. Soiled. Marked and stained by sin. Unfit. Unworthy. Defiled.

Yet - God touched him – and we see him changed. His sin taken away. A changed man. Thank God there is an altar - a sacrifice is made. An atonement. A Cleansing is there.

God’s man was humbled… He took an honest look, at himself. We see our frailty and weakness. Our unworthiness - our lack of strength.

We can turn our eyes Heavenwards and see the Lord… The more we see Jesus the more we see our need of Him. And we come to see that: 2 Corinthians 3:5 ...our sufficiency is of God.

Isaiah realised his sinful condition. His unworthiness. He said, I’m undone – I’m unclean – I’m defiled… God’s awesomeness highlights man’s awfulness.

Isaiah found forgiveness. God’s gracious cleansing. One of these angelic creatures took a coal out of the altar that is in heaven. The altar was the place of blood sacrifice - where blood was shed as a substitutionary sacrifice. (7) And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Isaiah found God’s setting free power. He found the grace of God.

(8) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. What does God say…? “GO!” A mission awaits. Our world needs Jesus…

Will we say, “YES LORD”? This vision calls for action. This vision calls for a response. When we
