-Kalaja e Lezhës është një kala që ndodhet afër Lezhës, Shqipëri veriperëndimore. Kalaja ngrihet në majë të një kodre me lartësi 186 metra, në lindje të qytetit. Kalaja ka origjinë ilire. Në vitin 1440 ajo iu nënshtrua një rindërtimi nga venedikasit, ndërsa në vitin 1522 pas pushtimit osman u rindërtua edhe nga ana e tyre. Këtu mund të shikohen gjurmë të arkitekturave ilire, romake, bizantine dhe osmane. Kalaja e ndërtuar në kodër ka një pozicion strategjik që kontrollon luginën e Drinit deri në Gjirin e Shën Gjonit në detin Adriatik.

The castle originates from Illyrian times. In 1440 it was reconstructed by the Venetians, and in 1522, after the Ottoman conquest, it was also rebuilt by the latter. The castle bears traces of Illyrian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman architecture. Interesting places to visit are the ruins of the Ottoman buildings inside the castle, the mosque, the tower of the south-eastern wall with a Roman arch, and the Illyrian tower on the southern wall. The Lezha castle is a cultural monument. The castle offers a beautiful view of the Lezha fields and the Adriatic Sea.

-Kalaja e Paleokastrës i përket periudhës së antikitetit të vonë. Ndodhet në provincën e Epirit të Vjetër, aty ku bashkohet lumi Drino me lumin e Kardhiqit. Sipas mbishkrimit dedikues, u ndërtua më 311-314 nën mbikëqyrjen e presidit të provincës. Shërbente për njësinë ushtarake, që kontrollonte lëvizjen në rrugët gjatë luginës së të dy lumenjve. Kështjella ka trajtë trapezi, përfshin 1 ha sipërfaqe, hyrja kryesore është në perëndim. Brenda ruhen gjurmë të fjetoreve të ushtarëve. U shkatërrua më 378 nga gotët. U rindërtua në shek.V, kur u ngritën edhe dy bazilika paleokristiane. Jeta dëshmohet deri në fund të shek.VI.
-Paleokastra is a castle situated in Gjirokastra. Its name means old castle. Paleokastra is probably one of the few roman military installations in the area of the Balkans and thought to be built in 4th century AD, at the time of Emperor Constantine the Great (272-337 AD), to house a cavalry company. The walls collapsed but the rectangular shape of a typical roman fortress is still visible, and can be seen with angular corner towers and a single gate to the west. Excavation have shown that it remained in use well into the 6th century AD and later additions include two small churches built within the walls. The castle was built in this place to guard both, the river as well as the entrance to the Kardhiq valley through which ran the main roman road to Saranda and the coast.

-Libohovë Castle is a castle in Libohovë, southern Albania. It was built between 1796 and 1798 by Ali Pasha. The Castle of Libohovë entitled Cultural Monument of first category in 1963, is situated on the East of the City of Libohovë. Castle was a gift that Ali Pasha made to his sister Shanisha for her wedding. The Castle has almost a rectangular plan with 70 x 80m. It is reinforced by four polygonal corner towers and a bastion in a regular geometric shape, adjacent to one of the corner towers. The fortification is equipped with three entrances.

•Fortress of Bashtovë is a medieval quadrangular fortress located close to the outflow of the Shkumbin River into the Adriatic Sea in Central Albanian. The fortress is a rectangular structure oriented to the north-south direction. The walls are 9 metres (30 ft) high and comprise a roughly 60 by 90 metres (200 by 300 ft) interior. In the north and east, there stands round towers each of them 12 metres (39 ft) high.

Finiq is located about 8 km from the city of Saranda. In the Hellenistic period it belonged to Kaonia - part of the Kingdom of Epirus. During the Byzantine period, Justinian supported important urban interventions. The Turkish invasion, for which Ugolini found archaeological traces that tells of a violent invasion, ended the old history of the city, which then remained a small village at the hill that still exists.
