This is a 12 guage shotgun I built using information from the army improvised munitions handbook. All parts were purchased at lowes or were lying around. the hammer is a couple of pieces of a screen door closer mount. the sear is just a piece of steel bent so that it overlaps the end of the hammer. when the trigger is pulled it pushes a stiff wire against the sear to release the hammer. Works pretty good but is a pain to have to take the coupling off to load every time. have only shot about 10 rounds with it. still fun to build. I have been busy with meetings for work lately so I haven't been doing much on the cabin.
In this video I put up a few more pallets and got most of the front wall complete. I got the door and windows framed up roughly so the design of the front of the cabin can be seen now.

Thought I would make a little slide show of fixing the old Lumina. My wife hit some water on the road and slid into the ditch. Luckily she wasn't hurt but the car got kind of beat up. I have a parts car the same color(besides the grey stripe on the bottom)so I took the parts from it and fixed it right back up.

I've started working on my father-in-law's scooter. It's a Chinese Wussi 250cc scooter. When he first got it he wasn't very familiar with riding a scooter so it ended up on the ground a few times. He wants it fixed back up, so I told him I would do it for him.

This video shows how my generator was converted to run on natural gas and also shows the safety shutoff valve. Here is a link to the valve I used http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00827FP26/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I know the audio is not very good, my phone doesn't have a very good microphone. The generator runs smooth regardless of the sound you hear on the video.

I worked on filling up the openings by the roof by putting 2x4s in the gaps. I also put pallet boards up as trim around some of the corners. I got a supply of water from up the hill. It isn't a lot of water but it should supply enough for the cabin. I will have to run some plumbing in the cabin so I don't have running water inside yet, but it is up there if I need it.
I had my first overnight stay in the cabin and it was nice and quiet. I slept great. I didn't bring anything to eat up there, but I didn't have any way to cook yet anyhow. Next time I'll cook some food and maybe make some coffee.
Check out my store. I have shirts, hats etc.

My homemade laptop is almost done just a couple more things to add whenever they get here.
It should be a handy kit to carry around. I plan on using it for different experiments and testing purposes. It will have a built-in Arduino, variable power supply, volt meter Automotive diagnostic computer, and a couple of other tricks. It can also be a portable power station and charged with solar. I was going to also add a jump box and air compressor but ran out of room lol.

I found a front bumper for the Silverado. The local junkyard had one that was still in decent shape for cheap. I had to take it off of the truck in the yard. It had surface rust on the inside, so I wire brushed it and sanded it down on the inside. I then painted the inside to prevent future rust from occurring.
I also reviewed my new tool, a Neiko 1/2 inch drive impact wrench.
here are the specs for it in case anyone is interested.

I was getting tired of the yellow on Zephyr, so I decided to slap a coat of paint on the bottom. Now it is blue and yellow, At some point when the blue is sufficiently dry there will be silver on top.
Yes, I painted the blue part with a roller. It actually looked decent until the wind kicked up and blew dust and junk all over it. I think I will be able to sand it down to a reasonable shine. I'm liking the blue and hoping it goes well with the silver.
