We headed off to the Aviation Museum (Royal Thai Air Force Museum) after my 90-day visa check-in and was pleasantly surprised with the visit and not only that, it was free!
I’m a retired Aussie expat living in Thailand with my Thai ladyboy girlfriend. Our Video Blog covers the typical things we find ourselves doing as we build our life together living our life in the suburbs of Bangkok. My fiancée is a post-op ladyboy and we have been together since 2009. I finally moved to Thailand in September 2016 because the 8 years of travelling to see her was taking its toll. We hope we will give you a unique perspective on Thailand life and lifestyle as we go about our daily life and sometimes explore the Land of Smiles. I don't know if it is just the cleaner air up here in Sukhothai, but something certainly gets me thinking about the rural lifestyle.

It's been a few years since I visited Cha-Am but hanging out with Rob and Bee certainly makes a fun Saturday afternoon. We first head out to take a look at where they are building their house. It is going to be big and will be a great place to visit when they get it finished.
We then head down to the beach and dip our toes in the water. I was quite surprised but the lack of people on the beach. I can only guess that it is due to the overcast day. Mind you, Rob did say that the tourist numbers are down from previous years around this time.
We head home for a freshen up and then head out for dinner on the beach. To be totally honest, this restaurant couldn't be any closer to the beach without actually being in the water. The food was great, the company was wonderful and we had a really good feed.
If you are interested in the location for this restaurant, here is the google map pin location.

Still, nothing signed off on the new home front, but things are moving along. Now she wants to look at home upgrade stuff so we head out to lunch and then some window shopping. She chose another cute bistro just off Sai 3 called The Little Red Riding Hood Eatery & Garden. The food here was yummy with a mix of western and traditional Thai cuisine. The menu was in English and Thai so that was a plus and it is fairly close to home. We then headed off to Design Village to look at some home improvement options. After that, we then stopped off at Home Pro to pick up a new gas top cooker as the 4-year-old one just crapped out and the electric kettle fizzled out as well. You've got to love the planned obsolescence society is now presented with just to keep the economic machine running!

It is now the Thailand New Year so today I decided to do a video about my thoughts on a few things, reflect on a few things and look into the crystal ball for a few things. April 2016 was the month where the pedal hit the metal and I started getting ready to move to Thailand.

It's Sunday afternoon and we take a drive west of Bangkok to have a mid afternoon lunch together. After stopping off at Wat Rai Khing to offer merit, we go to check out a local restaurant that has been recommended to us by friends. The O2 kaffee & bistro was tucked away in the narrow back streets of east Nakhon Pathom and when we got there, it was a 2 hour wait to get served. We quickly decided that we'd go to Wat Don Wai floating market instead and come back here another time.

For the whole time I've had this channel, I'm almost always the person working the camera angles. There have been times when Chanya has grabbed the camera mid-shot and this has sparked a few subscribers to suggest I give her the camera for the whole vlog. Today we give it a try with a little success, but as she says, she's shy with the narration part because she doesn't speak good English. I am always telling her that it's ok and I don't speak good Thai either. She does need to get used to all the switches to make it all work naturally so we'll work up to it. Of course, this brings up the constant questions from viewers regarding the "baby talk" angle. I don't take offence at the remark simply because I realize the viewers making the comment don't know the Thai language, the difficulty of learning the nuances of the English language and the underlying need for people of different cultures to communicate at a level of comprehension. Generally, these people have never left their own country or maybe their own city for any real length of time. When living in a foreign country, it is very important to make adjustments in many areas so that you can convey meaningful ideas. This is why we have a special language we call Tinglish and most foreigners living in Thailand use it on a regular basis.

Today, we are at the Thanat Nois Story restaurant and cafe situated in Samut Sakhon. Although the restaurant's map location was a bit misleading as it's connected to a nearby service station, we managed to find a suitable parking spot. We discovered another excellent water-themed spot to enjoy our lunch. Thailand's culinary delights have never disappointed us, and we continue to marvel at the consistent quality of food. After our satisfying meal, we went ahead with our routine household chores, which included our weekly shopping.
