Large organizational units, by definition, become impersonal wastelands. Social isolation, loneliness, and anxiety are inevitable in these heterogenous systems. Ethno-nationalist units with close connections, higher trust, and a shared culture provide people with more meaning, better sense-making, less anxiety, and more happiness. I reached this conclusion reluctantly after a long journey into the fundamentals of community-building. Now it seems like common sense.
