Following the signing of a Manifesto for peace by 600K people, thousands of people took part in a demonstration in Central Berlin. The anti-war protest was against giving more weapons to Ukraine. With the words "Count Roses, Not Thorns, a destroyed Russian tank was decorated with 2,000 roses. It was placed there in support of Ukraine. The protesters were against the symbol of division. They are calling for all involved governments to seek peaceful talks and negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.

There was a mass exodus of people and families from the two days prior to the beginning of the Special Military Operation. Recently children in the Belgorod area were also evacuated in response to attacks from Kiev and its military. The International Criminal Court considers such measures to protect children as a war crime. During their meeting, the Foreign Ministers expressed their full support to South Africa's BRICS Chairship in 2023 under the theme “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development, and Inclusive Multilateralism”.
