This was a very short, yet steep, hike to what is known as "Pumpkin Rock" to the locals of Norco, CA. For a few pictures and a little more info go to my blog entry for this one:

This is the 3rd and final video of my time in Supai. Mooney Falls was named after a miner, Mooney, who fell to his death here. He is buried somewhere around here. Why didn't I go to the bottom? At this point in the afternoon my legs were tired from all the hiking, but the bigger issue was I just did not have the patience in waiting around for all the people going up and down using the chain. First, I was very sick when doing this hike. Second, to get to this area you have to sign up for it since one cannot access the land on one's own. Third, since this was a docent led hike which needed a lot more explanation from someone other than me it was a little more difficult to do a video of it. Some of the wind did not help either.
The two events:
1)On June 25, 1965 a plane crashed that was attempting to take 80+ soldiers on their way to Vietnam.
2)At the end of January, 1857 two men of the Juan Flores gang were hanged on a tree.
Continuing my Halloween story, but also giving the basics of the history of what happened can be found on my blog:

Quick disclaimer: there are some "quick word graphics" in this video. Not really quick flashing, and imo rather mild to other things on Youtube, but if you are sensitive to that sort of thing then you should know.
Not one of my most brilliant moments. I probably should have made some noise, but I was focusing on getting a good video for you all. Although I explained everything I was thinking at the end I did do a short blog for this one that basically says the same thing here:

I tried to make this as creepy as possible as one of my "Halloween theme" videos. I think the weather conditions, along with the music, help that.
This is what remains of the old L.A. Zoo that is about a mile south of the active well known L.A. Zoo. Lots of stuff has been filmed like Anchorman and Eraser (with Schwartnegger). Zoltan: Hound of Dracula, a cheesy 70's "horror" movie about a dog that was bitten by Dracula, had a few scenes here. His tomb, in which he comes back from the dead at the beginning of the movie, was supposed to be here. I have more on my blog on this area here:

This updates the video on did on this location a few years ago. This video (and the next one coming soon) I use the "next week" line as a tribute to the old serials that had cliffhanger endings that were resolved the following week...I assume most will get what I am saying, but you never know in 2012.
For more on this location go to the old blog I did on this one a few years ago:
