Stop Talking About White Privilege | mrgirlsplaining #17
Hi Horses,
What has white privilege done for YOU lately? I don't mean the privilege of being white... I mean the concept of white privilege itself.
Does constantly reminding people to be woke and to check their privilege actually help anyone get better treatment? Or is it unproductive, pedantic, self-righteous, and really annoying?
Do people actually think about what they say, or do they just parrot a list of talking points they heard someone else say?
People talking about white privilege annoys me so much that it feels like someone has set fire to the fabric of space-time.
In other news--my "Consent Is Complicated" video was taken down by people flagging it as spam. I've appealed the decision and hopefully YouTube puts it back up.

Jimmy is the editor-in-chief of mrgirl. He has the final say on everything I post, which is good, because sometimes I have some really stupid ideas.
Because my horrible family doesn't want me, he invited me to have Thanksgiving at his grandmother's.
I told him I wanted to make a video about suicide at some point. He replied, "You should interview my mother and grandmother about my uncle killing himself."
So, immediately after we finished eating our Thanksgiving dinner, and having never met them before that day, I did exactly that.
