APC Smart-UPS 1500 Battery Replacement (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Repair
I am of the opinion, if you plan to have a desktop computer, and by that I mean a machine without a built in battery, you need to have a UPS or Uninterruptible Power Supply. Go as large as you can reasonably afford. Should you have a power interruption, your computer and equipment will thank you in the best way it knows how, by not turning off unexpectedly and corrupting your data.
This is a video montage, no narration, just some on-screen text over music.
In a situation where the door will not open on a Whirlpool Front Load Washer of the 2022 vintage, it can be manually. This requires removal of the lid which is held on by 3 screws. The latch can be released by pushing down on the top of the latch assembly. An audible click will be heard as the lock is disengaged.

Playing River City Ransom Underground with my boy who wants to be called, "FritzyGamer". This was mostly to test out Open Broadcaster Studio and work out how to use it.
Expect any Streams to be of real low quality and have not a bit of useful content in them.
Thanks for watching!

This is another song by Perifractic I really enjoyed. It was composed with help of a computer simulating the SID sound chip from the greatest 8-bit computer of the 80s, the Commodore 64. Although it may not translate well in the video itself, but the blue colors of the Commodore 64 BASIC screen is is throughout the light dance, mostly for my own personal gratification.
Light sequenced to music using Falcon Player running on a BeagleBone Black with the Kulp Lights F8-B Cape and a Pixel2AC board. The sequence was programmed using xLights on openSUSE Linux.

Building out a Commodore 64 like, mini-ITX case to run openSUSE Tumbleweed, a rolling Linux distribution. This is now my main desktop and I enjoy it as my daily-driver machine for doing all the things you do on a computer.
It is a vanity build and likely not for everyone but if you have a love of the vintage, this is a great case and fantastic keyboard.

TheC64 is an ARM based, re-implementation of the Commodore 64 in it’s approximate original package to include a full-sized, working, keyboard but instead of the original ports, it is adorned with HDMI, and USB ports. The power switch is not the toggle switch that cuts the power but rather a push-button soft witch with additional functionality.
Since its underpinnings are Linux, there is a kind of non-destructive "modification" you can do to take advantage of some of the Linux goodness that supports this device.

The video quality is rather poor in this but rather than just toss it out. I am sharing with you anyway. Feel free to comment accordingly!
This is part of my ongoing mission to reduce complexity and make navigating the waters of life just a bit less irritating. Since I have DeWalt cordless tools as my primary platform, it doesn't make sense to add Ryobi batteries but rather just use the same battery platform. Not sure if DeWalt or Ryobi like this but I can say that I sure do like this very much.
Little things like this make doing the nerdy things I do just a bit easier.

Getting a new piece of hardware is loads of fun, mostly because I get to see how well openSUSE runs on it. This Fujitsu Lifebook is a fantastic little device that has already been a great enhancement to my ensemble of devices. I hope for many years of reliability out of this.

TheC64 came bundled with TheJoystick from RetroGames Ltd. The stick part of the joystick fell out. This video demonstrates the simple process to fix it.
I would recommend some thread locking compound to prevent the stick from falling out again.
