We went for a ride on our 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic with my wife looking for curvy roads and beautiful fall colors. I thought I would talk about riding two up, my experience and thoughts. It is fall, and we just going to ride looking for the curvy roads and beautiful fall colors. As you can see I am not alone today, I am going with my wife, so I decided to talk about riding two up. People ask me if I ride my motorcycle two up with my wife. The answer is very simple. Yes, I do. I would say that lately I ride the bike with my other half much more than alone. Considering that I just started riding last summer, I was not comfortable riding two up at the beginning. By mid summer we got all the gear required for my wife and started riding together. We went for a few short rides around the neighborhood first and then started riding for longer trips. My wife actually got addicted to riding a motorcycle with me. Now every Friday she asks if we are going for a ride the coming weekend and where we are going. First, about why I like riding with my wife. I think it is a great way to spend good quality time together, just two of us and nobody else, and kids are all at home taking care of their own business. This spring I bought a pair of Bluetooth devices SENA 20S, and now we can talk while we are riding. We can talk whatever we want to talk about, nobody can hear. And again, it is just two of us and the road. Now we are planning where we are going. It kind of has become our joint hobby. This summer my wife asked if we could go for a longer trips. We went for a few hours ride taking side roads and we got lost a couple of times, so had to stop and check the phone where we were and find right direction. When we came back my wife said that she knew what was going to be or next purchase for the bike, GPS. It did not take long and here we have it, so we can go for longer rides without getting lost. Now a few words about how I had to upgrade and adjust the bike for two up riding. I replaced a seat first. I put A Mustang seat that is not only more comfortable for a driver, it is way more comfortable for a passenger. With a stock seat my wife could not go even for a 15 min ride. Now we can ride an hour, an hour and half before taking a break. Then I bought a sissy bar and installed it with a Mustang backrest matching the seat and more comfortable than the regular one from Cobra. Now my wife feels more comfortable and safe.
