Yesterday we showed you the girls boxing and wrestling...here is the same thing in bigger version - with the boys, Jimbo and Leo. The girls are around 400 pounds. Leo is about 900 and Jimbo over 1400. But the play-fighting still stays calm between them all. This would not be likely in the wild.

The little family of fawns. They really look so happy and healthy. Last year’s fawns still come to the fence every night and lay beside them. It’s such a nice thing knowing they will have a little herd to go with,, that they already know, when they are released.

Here is a great video of Randy and Rosie. It shows you how similar in size they are - but of different species. Randy is a male syrian brown bear, and Rosie is a female kodiak bear. Female bears are typically much smaller than males, but the difference in species makes up for it in this case! Both weigh about 900 lbs.

Fun video of Randy, Rosie and Kimmy. Such big bears these three! We would also like to take a moment to dedicate this video to the memory of one of our long time supporters, Dan Kohrdt who recently passed away. Thanks for all the love over the years Dan. Rest peacefully.

Duckie is probably the smartest duck in the world. No really! Really! Why? Well.... first, he is super super old. You have to be pretty darn smart to be a wild duck and survive as long as he has. Second, when he sleeps outside, he swims to a rock in the MIDDLE of the large pond, so that predators can not get to him. He can safely sleep there all night while predators stare at him from the edge of the shore. And third, in the winter, he comes up to the barn and hangs out inside all winter, refusing to go out in the cold and forcing Susan to provide food, water, and cleanup for him. This is one smart duck.
