I've always wanted to do this video, and I've finally gotten around to it.
In the video we test 4 of the big players in HT antennas on a Baofeng radio at various distances from home.

All of them were actually very similar (except for the rubber duck), so it was hard to tell which one was actually preforming the best.

This video takes you through the steps of working an Amateur Radio satellite.
I'm using a BaoFeng BF-F8HP, with a 1/4 Wavelength Whip Antenna.
The sattelite we will be listening on is AO-92. Sorry for the bad pass, it sounds as though something/someone was interfering with the freq.
I begin by explaining how to find close satellite passes, how to track them, and then we go out and actually listen to the satellite.

It's getting more and more common to make a Christmas light antenna here on YouTube, so this year I wanted to switch it up. Last year I made the EFHW, this year I made a regular ole Dipole.
But I decided to decorate the tree with it, and see if I could still make an FT8 contact, and wow did it surprise me. I made a DX contact basically right off the bat, so as always, you don't need a giant yagi outside to play on HF.
