The Shavit first launched in 1988 carrying Israeli designed and built surveillance satellites, since then it's launched more than 10 time, with the latest being the first weekend of July 2020 carrying the Ofeq 16 satellite. Shavit is unique among launch vehicles in that it's designed to launch retrograde to avoid dropping spend stages on Israels neighbours. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC2aCOaiGu0

I love this spaceship indie game which casts you as a bunch of renegade space pirates 'sticking it to the man' as you head towards the core of a galaxy locked down by the 'evil establishment'. Mine asteroids, build ships, customize them, blow them up... the usual things.
Note - if you buy this it won't have my awful voiceover work on it, that is probably a good thing.

In the last couple of weeks we had 2 big launch failure investigations zero in on the causes. Japan debuted their New HIII rocket. SpaceX starts launching New generation Starlink. Crew 6 Heads to the ISS and a rescue ship finally arrives at the space station.

Before the launch of Premium Beta I had the chance to fly the Anaconda in Elite: Dangerous. While this has a smaller cargo capacity than the Lakon Type 9 it can fit the biggest weapons in the game, and its shields make it as tough as an asteroid - which also describes how well it steers.
And now, after a hectic weekend, I find myself still in a Sidewinder :)

Some examples of contracts for money making. First I show how to fly a tourist on a suborbital flight with a probe in control. Secondly I test 3 different parts at different altitudes using an aircraft as a test vehicle. To make the rocket engine not spin the aircraft we use the translate and rotate tools to align the thrust vector through the center of mass.

Virgin Orbit have joined a short list of private companies which have successfully developed and launched an orbit capable rocket. Launcher One is an air launched, cryogenically fueled 2 stage rocket able to carry about 300kilograms to a 500km orbit.
In terms of payload it's more capable than Rocket Lab's Electron, but more expensive, and able to operate from an airport so may actually launch satellites from the UK in the future.

During the Space Shuttle program there were always people trying to anticipate every problem in advance and plan for them. Some situations would require emergency EVAs by astronauts to stow hardware or close doors. These were referred to as 'contingency EVAs' and a few of them required ideas that seemed a bit crazy, but were in fact the results to finding the safest way to bring the crew and vehicle home safely.
Be sure to check out Wayne Hale's blog for more great shuttle stories.

Forget the science, let's see how fast I can go from an empty VAB to the surface of the mun and then back to kerbin. And then, let's see how fast everyone else can do it.
Rules:
1) start with empty VAB
2) build a vehicle one part at a time, no subassemblys
3) launch to moon, you may have already setup correct orientation.
4) land softly on moon for at least a second, a bounce does not count.
5) return to kerbin and land safely
Stock KSP 1.2.2 only, no mods allowed, no custom categories, video needed for verification.
I'll have another go, because I know I can do better, also, there are other records to attempt.

I like roguelikes, I like indie games, so when someone told me to try this I wasn't going to say no. A bit of a change from spaceships, but man cannot live on spaceships alone!
It's still in development and you can buy the game through their website (and get a steam key) for $15
