The Many Worlds of Ann Druyan, Matriarch of the Cosmos w/ Brian Keating
Brian recently interviewed Ann Druyan, co-creator of Cosmos and wife of Carl Sagan and delved into the many worlds that she lives in. Join Tony and Brian as we give you a preview of his interview.
The search for planets around other stars is heating up. So far, there are over 4,000 confirmed exoplanets. What would the Earth look like in one of these searches?
Bit late this week, but nonetheless...
Astronomers think there may be more free floating planets than stars in our galaxy.

The question of what caused the Big Bang is one of the most difficult facing humanity. We may never find an answer, and even if we do, we probably won't understand it. It's difficult to imagine an event occurring without a cause, and yet, that is precisely the prospect we are faced with when it comes to this question.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Falcon Heavy launch this week and it was Just Like Downtown! Here are some highlights. Also, astronomers make the strange leap from smeared light from a distant galaxy to extragalactic planets with no stars. And finally, the JWST is making it's way to California and is one step closer to launch.

In this episode, NASA extends Juno’s mission to Jupiter, a mission that has shown us some amazing features of the largest planet in our solar system and is also teaching us a lot about what lies beneath those stunning cloud formations.

The future is bright for studying the universe. The 2020 Decadal Survey - the thing that guides what questions astronomers want answered and what instruments should be built to answer them - is finally out.
There are many interesting recommendations in this report so lets take a look and see where we are headed!

One of the most important activities that professional astronomers are engaged in is looking for asteroids out there that might hit the Earth and in THAT task, they can use all the help they can get.
With today's amateur equipment it is now possible to engage in professional-level sky searches for asteroids that help keep tabs on all the big rocks out in the solar system, some of which are potentially hazardous to us.
Mike Forslund, aka Asteroid Hunters has set up an automated system in his driveway that assists astronomers in locating and tracking asteroids. In this episode, Mike updates us on what's changed for him (turns out it's a lot!) since our last time together.

Ever wonder what’s going to happen to the outer planets of our solar system when the Sun turns into a red giant star? Will they survive or will the get flung out into space? Will Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune evaporate? This week astronomers found some clues to these questions from observations of a white dwarf that appears to have a planet at least twice as large as the star itself.
