republicans-from-all-over-the-country-2
From the halls of Congress to the corridors at Fox News, it appears that Republicans from all over are finally sick of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Fox published an op-ed this week where a network contributor flatly calls Greene "an idiot," while members of Congress are threatening to go nuclear on Greene if her bid to oust Mike Johnson as Speaker is successful. Things are looking worse and worse for the Georgia Representative, but she still doesn't seem to care. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Poor Marjorie Taylor Greene has no friends. She doesn't have any friends in the halls of Congress. She doesn't have any friends in the corridors at Fox News. She is alone. She is an island, and she is continuing to push her resolution to remove Mike Johnson as speaker, which of course has cost her most, if not all, of her allies in the conservative world. Again, whether it's in Congress, whether it's at Fox News, or whether it's across America, Republicans, not just those of us on the left, but now Republicans are sick, tired of Marjorie Taylor Greene's antics, an anonymous house Republican lawmaker told Axio this week. Uh, said, some of us are saying if the speaker is vacated, which would be a travesty, that we'll nominate Steve Womack and cut the anarchists out altogether. And of course, this is over the, uh, you know, funding for Ukraine.
Womac, a Republican, a staunch supporter of Ukraine, 100% in favor of the funding. So the Republicans in Congress, at least some of 'em have gotten together and they've said, listen, if Green does this, we're gonna go nuclear. We're gonna go with her worst fricking nightmare as the next speaker. Now, the problem green has with trying to oust Speaker Johnson is that she doesn't have enough Republican support for it. And she may not even have enough Democratic support for it, because unfortunately we have at least two Democrats on record saying they're not gonna, uh, vote to vacate the speakership, which in my opinion is dumb. Like Democrats just vote to oust him, and the Republicans are gonna get all the heat for it. Like I know that may seem like dirty politics, but do it right. I mean, Johnson sucks anyway. Like we don't want him as speaker.
Get him out. They're not united over there. This is your chance to get Hakeem Jeffries as the speaker. Why would you say that you're gonna protect Mike Johnson? That's not smart. It's simply not smart. But, that's conversation I've already had, right? Democrats don't protect Mike Johnson. That'd be very stupid, but Marjorie Taylor Green can't even get enough Republicans right now to kick him out. And what's worse, as I said, even the people at Fox News are getting sick and tired of her. They ran an op-ed this week from Fox News contributor Liz Peak, where Liz Peak said, quote, Marjorie Taylor Greene is an idiot. She is trying to wreck the GOP, her bombastic self-serving showmanship and drama. Queen energy, uh, should be aimed towards Democrats, but instead she's aimed it at her own party. Her wild antics and equally hair-brained conspiracy theories on the house floor, as well as her insults, you know, to Lauren Bobert, uh, uh, uh, she would rather burn down the house, metaphorically speaking, than work towards the greater good. The greater good, unless she and her fellow discontent in
Congress have forgotten, is defeating President Joe Biden in November. So, the greater good for Republicans is not legislating, right? It, it's not actually passing bills. We've got a Congress that has passed fewer bills than any Congress in the history of the United States, but that's not, they don't care, right? 'cause Liz Peak says the greater good is just defeating Biden 'cause it's a zero sum game. You know, win or lose in November.
