A vintage Symphonic stereo with AM/FM Stereo/8-track/phono. I had to fix the program change circuitry on the 8-track player.

This Russian recorder boasts two speeds! The unit is AC bias and AC erase, with excellent recording quality. This recorder is the same age as I am!

Some old cells are shown. Likely from the 1980s. These N-size cells have the old Energizer logo, which is interesting to see. These were sitting in an organizer drawer (droor) for quite some time. Unfortunately, the charge has not held up so well through its shelf life (sheef lief).
Also I update on the workbench, as I have a fluorescent lamp fixture installed (bloomin' fantastic) and a tower-o-organizers for electronics components.
Perhaps a future video may show my Magnecord 1048 reel-to-reel tape recorder, now fixed. But it has to be operated carefully at an angle for the time being, as my reel-stoppers are.....in...Arkansas.....

The package says that they are "non-refillable" pencils; the thought is that you use it till it runs out of lead and then it's trash. BUT! That is a lie! You can refill them and I encourage you to do so. This video explains how to refill the pencil, complete with close-ups. Don't throw them away, refill them! Remember, the Paper-Mate Sharpwriter pencil uses 0.7mm lead. Standard Pentel lead will work excellent.
The video was recorded with a Sony EVO-210 Video 8 8mm VCR.

A LONG TIME has passed since I have uploaded a video (last one was January!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP) Yeah, I set a record there. I have made a few videos since then on my smart phone, just too lazy or whatever to upload them. Also, it simply set a record.
Anyway, John (jrcstudios) gave me a nice 1960s recorder (thank you!), and I replaced the belt and recapped the amplifier (just about all of 'em were leaky). The unit is AC bias of course, and has auto and manual level control. Upcoming on the videos are a Sandy rim drive unit, a Realistic CTR-68, and believe it or not, an IBM "magnabelt" recorder (a very odd machine), an AIWA car cassette RECORDER (thank you umajunkcollector!), and a Sony TC-50 ("that's one small step for man, one GIANT leap for mankind"). Also upcoming is a (temporary, now taken back apart--breadboarded) homemade digital audio recorder (this time 8-bit, with 96KB of static RAM).

Project 36 from the ol' Tandy 200-in-One Kit!
Built on breadboard. Press the key, and the oscillator operates, emitting sound from the crystal earphone. Release the key, and the 100µF capacitor slowly discharges through the oscillator making the sound slowly fade.
Remember, I am not the author of the circuit design or the text of the manual!! It comes from the old kit.
