I thought you might enjoy the raw comparison between two amazing sets which are pretty incomparable : the synthetic core Thomastic and gut core Aquila on violoncello da spalla. The latter being unpacked in played LIVE to the camera, no edits, no even allowing the strings to settle and stabilise. The final judgement is up to you.
Great news: Aquila VC da Spalla Mk2 II strings are a big improvement in comparison to the awesomeness we had since 2005.
Another great news - still very much a hope - synethitic core Aquila strings can finally become available soon I hope.
Another great news, I hope Thomastic will be stocking some of their strings since the number of violoncello da spalla makers has suddenly increased and there are more players too.
