Super Mario Kart Retrospective with Composer Soyo Oka
On this episode of The TigerChainsaw Show, it's a Super Mario Kart Retrospective! Nintendo changed the landscape of video games when they released a groundbreaking genre game Super Mario Kart. The addictive kart racer pitted famous Nintendo characters against each other, making friends and family join in the run when it was released in 1992. Joining the show is Soyo Oka, who was the sound composer for Super Mario Kart. Soyo discusses her creative process, who her favorite racer is, and working with Shigeru Miyamoto.
The musical guest is Lacey Johnson, a wildly talented musician who puts twists on classic video game soundtracks. Tonight she is performing the Lavender Town theme song from Pokemon.
