Blade Techno Rave (Monkey Music 2021) *2ND UPLOAD ACCIDENTALLY UPLOADED JUDG E JULES ESSENTIAL MIX BEFORE, WILL UPLOAD THAT NEXT, APOLOGIES!!*
One of several bangin' mixes I've come across recently on small or unknown labels, some just sets from independant DJ's. I don't think these have anything to do with the Blade movie but it's still a pretty cool cover. Also the tunes vary from Acid Techno, Hard House, to Tech Trance & hard trance, not just techno...but I won't hold that against them on account of it kicking ass!
Tracklist: Cali Martini - Bad Passion Julien Earle - T4T9 Claas Herrmann - Raskolnikow Lister - Colombia Henning Foster - AVERNO Florian Binaural, Windeskind - Isolation (Seimen Dexter Remix) Procopis Gkouklias, Steve Sai - Error Signal George Makrakis - Blood Bath Akkon - Bad Boy (Dennis Bauer Remix) Boris Brejcha - Angel in the Sky (Sascha Audit Bootleg) Cali Martini - Reflections David Temessi - Dirty People (Roentgen Limiter Remix) Devid Dega - Zero Theorem (Marrie Remix) Celec - Rhytm Of Eternity Gianluca Zeta - On Rave (Steve Soprani, Dandi & Ugo Remix) H! Classic anthem by Bruno Sanchioni, ⅓ of B.B.E ("7 Days and 1 Week"... which you can very easily tell if you play the 2 back2back)& Giuseppe Chierchia, a guy better known for that much sampled disco tune (the one in "Getting Jiggy With it" and "Don't call me Baby"... Ring a bell? Don't ask how I know that ... just... don't ok? ???).
Classed as *"the first trance tune ever made",* which it pretty much is, from way back in 1990. It sounded great then; great in 1992 when Jam & Spoon 's "Watch out for Stella" remix updated for the millions of new ravers (which I included because many ravers aren't aware that's not the original version), it's been great all the times it's been remixed, whether the old skool or the new versions (the only thing out of sync is the description of THIS Particular "age".
More "the age that needs love".
tracks:
Age of Love
1. Jam & Spoon Watch Out For Stella Mix
2. Sign of the Times remix.
3. OPM remix
4. Boeng remix
Mark Skelton (no relation to Les...so they claim haha!) a more technical DJ. I'm officially on a bittersweet Niche Nostalgia-fest...And it's led me to this gem of a tune I've been searching for at about 48:00 I only heard it 3 times in my life 1996-2000, whenever I asked it was "IGA feeling" or more informatively "White label" by "Unknown". I apologize for the sound quality in the others, this ain't bad & the Danny Walker mix sounds great .
Mark Broom's been a favourite techno producer of mine since the mid 90's, where his tracks and remixes popped up everywhere, from the likes of Dave Clarke, Carl Cox, & Darren Emmerson, to Ian Pooley, & Angel Moraes. He did a great mid-90's album, (his only one I believe) of completely fresh trax that worked even better mixed as with most techno albums (but he was still fairly unknown then so it slipped under the radar).
The style he became known for is one only he can pull off:
Bangin' deep, funky techno, with a subtle warmth, and dark undertones simultaneously. This wasn't the set I was after, aside from being B2B with James Ruskin, I got the wrong decade too lol: So tracklist :idk: (first to find it can be my official tracklist finder...and/typer ?)
Here's a tune that might've slipped past you. The Source (a little side-journey for hard house DJ John Truelove) best known for 1990 anthem
'You Got The Love' featuring
Candi Staton. 'Clouds' was big in Ibiza '97 the hard bassy Sharp DTPM Dub, and the uplifting show steaking Jon the Dentist Vocal mix in particular. But was also a track taken from The Source Album of the same name which came and went without much fuss but I believe, deserves a, "retrospective-ear" reassesment...
00:00 1. Clouds (Now Voyager Dub)
04:46 2. Clouds (Boris Dlugosch Funk Mix)
11:59 3. Clouds (Truelove's Acid Rain Dub)
16:45 4. Clouds (Truelove's Acid Rain Mix)
22:35 5. Clouds (Sharp DTPM Dub)
28:30 6. Clouds (Jon The Dentist Vocal Mix)
It's rare something is so old skool the nostalgia rush catches me off guard. But OMG how did I forget this. The originals dub overtones make the sweet catchy vocal somehow catchier. The Masters at work club remix is a stand alone you could forget is a remix, + one of the most sampled trax in itself (the piano loop from Mr.Roy "Can't be Beat" and Nikita Warren originated here. But the Andy Weatherall epic dub journey is the clear winner, slowly building, layered with samples , breaks and possibly a fatter bass,.. "cold & deadly" all before those that ethereal summery vocal kicks in...
St Etienne - Only love can break your heart:
00:00 1. Album version
04:31 2. Masters at work Mix
12:11 3. Flowered
18:24 4.Andy Weatherall Mix of 2 halves

33:32 6. Richard--- X remix
This is the 2nd Ibiza Euphoria comp, & the last with less heard DJs, because they saw fit to hand bandwagon riding Dave Pearce this spot (cringe).
I've been checking out some trance DJ's of the 00''s outside the un-Pearce bubble ( more "progressive" as much as I h8 at that word, like the kind of stuff on Hook). Hard but with deeper vibes than the millenium stuff. And I've zeroed in on some winners (Tiesto had a series of mini mixes called "Searching for sunrise" that is way more varied, & dark than I expected...So that's in the near future, plus some nineties wildchild trax, K-Klass's 1993 debut Universal, I meant to share ages ago plus some mid-90's Timeshard material thanx to a good buddy.
But I got to figure out how I'm gonna format it all (compress as much as possible or spread out). Also, resquests welcome...
