A newer video on how to use a capacitor kit I sell to replace the capacitors in a BenQ PE8700 power supply. It is essentially the same as the Runco CL700 and CL710. The 220uf @50v cap commonly fails but its well worth changing all of the green Lelon caps. The silver Nichicon capacitors can be left alone. If you want to buy a kit, you can go to eBay here and I'll get one in the mail for you. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Supply-Capacitor-Rebuild-Kit-for-Runco-CL-710-CL-700-CL-410-BenQ-PE8700/182857824950
This is the repair of the other MX710 I have. This video is narrated like usual. I picked up a pair of these earlier this year that needed DLP chips. I finally got around to repairing them.

This is an old (14 years) Viewsonic DLP Projector (PJD458) that was donated after the customer experienced shutdowns after a few minutes of use. I found a bad fan and some dust to clean and got it back up and running.
I ended up re-donating it to someone who needed a projector and was fine with the resolution for their purposes.
If you have any questions about your own projectors, head over the Reddit

Teardown and demonstration of a Wifi controlled Smart switch. It is meant to replace up to 3 single pole light switches. They have other models with varying amount of switches. This uses a Sonoff like module called a TYWE3S made by Tuya. https://docs.tuya.com/en/hardware/WiFi-module/wifi-e3s-module.html
I bought this one from one of the big e-retailers and used it in out kitchen. Very happy with it and will now replace all our light switches with these as soon as funds permit. Thanks for watching.

In my constant quest to find inexpensive yet useful electronics, I tried out the Teckin TC100 Wireless camera. Along the same line as Wyse, Nooie and other companies, Teckin has a strong standing in the budget smart home market. Their products tend to be more polished than the usual HKVision clones out there.
The picture is fantastic. You will see in the video. The housing is simple injection molded ABS. The stand can be back mounted(for wall installs) or bottom mounted. The controller looks to be Espressif based. The general construction is perfectly adequate, especially for the price range. I see a lot more expensive camera's cheaping out on things that the Teckin did now. Even the wifi antenna has it's own PCB rather than just being a trace on the main PCB.
I've only had this camera a few weeks now, but so far so good. I know they say it isn't outdoor rated but I put some tape over the opening and will see how it handles the weather. I might make a follow-up down the line if there is any interest.
Basically for $20, it's a great camera if you need to keep an eye on something.
If you want to try one yourself, here is where I got mine.

This was sent into my day job with a complaint of dim, even with a new lamp. This projector was really dirty. Packed with dust and nicotine crud.
It was/is used in a Golf simulator(not a bar) so it does get run pretty hard. Aside from the smoking damage, the green polarizer was shot. I was able to find a replacement for cheap enough, so after the replacement polarizer and a good cleaning, the projector was happy again.
If you need a polarizer for your Panasonic, contact Time Electronics, Gydz@timeprojectorlamp.com be sure to tell them I referred you.

Here is a simple source for thin enameled wire. Scrap down an old brushless fan. The larger the fan, the thicker the wire, the smaller the fan the thinner.
Works great since it has its own spool!

Troubleshooting and repairing an electric air fryer branded 'ZENY' that I acquired. Turns out the thermal fuse failed and needed to be replaced. This was supposed to be 3 parts but I mistakenly deleted the first part after I had thought it was rendered. You didn't miss much as the rest of the video explains it all.
