The best critique is when you can be honestly brutal with yourself.I think you can do your best work, if you let go and don’t worry about the outcome and be willing to cut out those pieces you were so fond of. This is easier to do in clay and painting, but not so easy in direct carving.I really need to move along on this and need to focus, so no music, Audio Books or Podcasts. In design you have repetition without variation, or repetition with variation. I like to use repetition with variation. Again comparing the bosses and the hollows with the movement, and making your sculpture turn. Sculpture has a certain weight to it, I struggle against it being thick and overweight and arrive at a point where it has a balanced weight as it starts to turn.
