Beosin CMO Did Not Liquidate Police-seized Bitcoin Says Firm
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Chinese security company Beosin did not access, trade and subsequently liquidate $45 million worth of bitcoin seized by police, the company has said. According to Chinese news outlet Tencent, “self-media” sources recently broke the story that Gao Ziyang had used his position to gain access to the bitcoin, which had been seized by police from a pyramid scheme. He was then said to have sent the bitcoin to OKEx to margin trade, losing the lot when his short position was liquidated. However, the company has since denied this and suggested it may take legal action against the reporters who broke the story.

The concept of yield farming has been savaged by a caustic post on social media just hours before two yield farming tokens, Pizza and Hotdog, crashed spectacularly. The post, put on 4chan yesterday evening, criticized the advent of yield farming and the “scam-tier horseshit” projects associated with it, warning that the fallout of the DeFi bubble burst will be “severe” and “long term”.

Mainstream media outlets engaged in a seemingly coordinated FUD attack on Bitcoin on Saturday, lamenting everything from its environmental impact to Bitcoin ATMs. Mainstream media in the UK and US engaged in what is either a massively coincidental episode of muck spreading or a coordinated effort to undermine Bitcoin with a one-day blitz that either touched on topics that have been debated for years or made points that they later undermined.
