National Institute for Health Grant for Wuhan COVID Research in Bats – Gain of Function
This *National Institute of Health* (**NIH**) grant is one of two documents currently at the centre of a debate about whether the NIH, and in-turn the US Federal Government through EcoHealth with subcontracts to the *Wuhan Institute of Virology* (**WIV**) funded gain of function research (as defined in US Government policy "*Department of Health and Human Services Framework for Guiding Funding Decisions about Proposed Research Involving Enhanced Potential Pandemic Pathogens (DHHS P3CO Framework)"*). This document and another prove that the NIH did support gain-of-function research at WIV, contrary to the claims of NIH Director Francis Collins and NIAID Director Anthony Fauci.

Previously undisclosed results of the research conducted using these grants showed that for the first time one of the laboratory generated SARS-related coronaviruses was more pathogenic to humanized mice that the starting virus from which it had been constructed.

It is important to note that this documentation does not provide conclusory evidence that the US Government funded the creation of SARS-CoV-2, but rather provides clear evidence of untruthful and misleading statements before the US Congress and the American public by both the Directors of the NIH and NIAID.

> This and another document were obtained by the Intercept in an attempt to discredit Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) for his allegations of lying before Congress on the part of Fauci with respect to gain-of-function research at the WIV, something this documents incidentally proved occurred. This write-up was taken-in part from Dr. Richard H. Ebright, Board of Governors Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University (https://archive.ph/y61dD).
