The Super Eagles of Nigeria, known for their hunger for victory, are set to compete in the 2024 African Cup of Nations, aiming to claim their 4th gold. With an impressive track record of 15 medals in 19 appearances, Nigeria's talented team, led by Victor James Osimhen, seeks to make a mark.
The super eagles of Nigeria currently ranked 42nd in the world are currently in Group A alongside, the host Côte d'Ivoire, translated as Ivory Coast in English, ranked 49th, Equatorial Guinea ranked 88th and Guinea-Bissau ranked 103rd in the world.

Group C features Senegal, Gambia, Cameroon and Guinea
Group D features Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania
Group E has Tunisia, Namibia, Mali and South Africa while
Group F features Morocco, Tanzania, DR Congo and Zambia
At the end of three group games, only the top 2 teams are guaranteed automatic qualification to the round of 16, alongside 4 of the best third placed teams across the 6 groups in the competition.
From 19 appearances, Nigeria have played a total of 97 matches, winning 53, drawing 22 and losing 22 games. We have also scored 137 goals and conceded 91 times. In 2024, we really want to win, the fans will expect the players to go the extra mile, even if it means waking up by 4:30am like Debbie but this time to serve our opponents breakfast. Jokes aside, we just want to see the Naija fighting sprit from this talented team.
The opening game will be played on Saturday, the 13th of January by 9pm Nigerian time between Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau.
Nigeria first game will be against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday the 14th of January by 3pm, our second game will be played on Thursday, the 18th of January by 6pm against Ivory Coast while our third and final group game will be played on Monday, the 22nd of January by 6pm against Guinea-Bissau
Notable Nigerian players have left a mark at AFCON throughout the years, and the team's attacking lineup, including Osimhen, Boniface, Lookman, and Chukwueze, is poised for success. The defense's solidity and the midfield's ability to create chances will be crucial for the Super Eagles.
While Morocco and Senegal are considered favorites, the Super Eagles, with their potent lineup, are a personal favorite.
